Iowa man allegedly shoots his father in face after complaint about smelly feet

Son faces attempted murder charge after ‘stinky feet’ remark set off heated argument, police say

A man shot his father in the face after the victim complained about the son’s smelly feet, according to authorities in Iowa.

David Carpenter, 48, faces a charge of attempted murder after investigators arrested him in a case that illustrates how quickly relatively minor, interpersonal quarrels can escalate into shootings in the US, which – according to some estimates – has more guns in circulation than people.

When you hear son, your mind really doesn’t go to 48 does it?

The duel needs to be brought back for civil arguments. Some nerf filled thunderdome where both parties can beat the snot out of each other with minor to little consequences. Either that or anger management needs to be taught in elementary schools.

That last sentence. Definitely that

He didn’t allegedly do anything. He straight up admitted he shot him.

Nougat ,

He's not been convicted or made a plea. Alleged is appropriate.

tacosanonymous ,

I would agree if the claim was “attempted murder” or “aggravated assault” etc but he objectively shot his father in the face.

Nougat ,

Quality media sources do not report that someone is "an attempted murderer" unless they have been convicted. If you are reading from a media source that does not characterize this as alleged at this time, you are reading propaganda.

Edit: Okay, I see, you're differentiating between the charge and the action of "shooting in the face." My point still stands; this case has not gone to trial, and so everything the defendant is accused of remains alleged.

Next up: DeSantis deputizes the attackers feet, claims the smell has religious rights to defend itself, bans any books referring to “stink”, and blames the lack of a pregnant woman in a nearby kitchen barefoot for the failure of the ammunition to succeed in the way American ammunition should.

And somehow the smell itself is woke because of tampons or something.
