What I find weird is that the area where he accessed the roof was apparently a police staging area. Basically, the guy waltzed through a police staging area with a long gun and shot the ex-president.

Fromer president

froming intensifies

0ops ,

I’m froming at the mouth over here

Wrench ,

Shot at the former president. He missed. The cut was from a shard of glass from a missed shot.

fartington , (edited )

This is factually incorrect.

Edit: A simple google search will confirm you’re spreading BS. Downvoting me won’t change that lol

Wrench ,

I just spent a while googling it, and nothing looks conclusive at all. But looks like Snopes has it as false as least.

But as far as the downvote, just saying “you’re wrong” is not helpful in the slightest. Maybe include a source, or even just an explanation that there was some early misinformation going around, and doesn’t look likely at moment.

workerONE ,

It seems like you’re wrong and you’re mad at the person correcting you

Wrench ,

Because I provided a link backing up his claim that I was wrong?

Ok.

ConnecticutKen , (edited )

Edit- Wrench was right all along, they are very good at researching, probably very intelligent too

workerONE ,

“But as far as the downvote, just saying “you’re wrong” is not helpful in the slightest. Maybe include a source, or even just an explanation…”

I’m sorry but first you are spreading false information and then you are telling the person who corrects you that they ought to provide you with sources to debunk your claims. You just seem like a lot of work for other people, now all these arguments

fartington ,

My bad, you’re right.

Is /sincere the opposite of /s? If so

/sincere

His reaction pretty much confirmed that it was a bullet. He touched his ear because he felt something and then he heard a noise. The brain took a while to make sense of it.

If a monitor exploded in front of him, he would’ve heard it before feeling the shrapnel and reacted completely different.

GDPR compliance? Nah, let’s just block all the traffic

JackbyDev ,

At least they’re using 451. I imagine some devs enjoyed that after not getting the go ahead for more time to properly implement GDPR stuff.

PrincessLeiasCat ,

Were they from Uvalde?

seathru ,
@seathru@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

Police being inept is not limited to Uvdale. It’s a nationwide problem.

PrincessLeiasCat ,

I don’t disagree with you.

radivojevic ,

“Problem” is sometimes subjective.

Trashboat ,
@Trashboat@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Unfortunately when it comes to cops, inept likely means more dangerous as opposed to less effective

radivojevic ,

In this case, BOTH! ;)

Diplomjodler3 ,

In this particular case I don’t mind.

seathru , (edited )
@seathru@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

Why? Once again they were inept in the worst possible way. They could have got trigger happy and shot the guy before it happened or they could have fucked off completely and let him take his shot. But no, they managed the worst possible outcome, trumps a martyr and still above ground, spouting bile.

the_tab_key ,

The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun … But only if he feels like it. Meh, someone else will take care of it.
