what race?? iirc anyone that dared challenge him just wanted trump to win

god it’s pathetic these stories they’re running

Cruxifux ,

They’re trying to paint Biden as a popular candidate among democrats and leftists in America. He isn’t. He sucks.

He sucks so much that many left leaning voters would rather just let Donald Fucking Trump win than vote for him.

Fucking delusional.

OccamsTeapot ,

Shh you’re not allowed to say that we’re supposed to ignore all this and hope that our collective delusion magically transforms him into a good candidate.

It’s fine, he’s better than Trump. In the same way eating sawdust is better than eating dog shit

holycrap ,

I’m faced with the choice of voting for a candidate that supports genocide in palestine vs one that supports genocide in palestine, ukraine and inside US borders

Icalasari ,

With the latter also very likely to attempt to dismantle democracy to become a dictator

I'm Canadian and I'm scared about the 2024 election

And the former an arguable premise.

As a guy who liked both Bernie and Liz 4 years ago: Biden has competitors?

Viking_Hippie ,

I think Vermin Supreme is also running? 🤷

Have primary opponents ever threatened an incumbent candidate?

Garbanzo ,

Yes, just not for the President. Sarah Palin defeated the incumbent governor and went on to win in the general election. There’s a few more, but she’s probably the most recognizable example.

Presidents who face serious primary challenges go on to lose the general election. GHWB, Carter, Ford, LBJ, and Truman all lost or dropped out after being primaried despite none of them actually losing their primaries. Not sure how that plays out this time, but I’d recommend registering Republican and voting for Nikki, just in case.

Ted Kennedy challenged Carter during the reelection campaign of 1980, winning big states like California and New York. Supposedly this challenge weakened Carter’s standing among the left of the party and ultimately led to him losing to Reagan.
