I fear people don’t recognise just how big a number 20,000 is because we’re used to talking about population in 100s of thousands or millions.

But imagine everyone you know, freinds, family people you know at work, even the cashier at your local shop you’re friendly with. Chances are that list of people is <100. Everyone you know and care about is around 100 people.

Now to get to 1,000 you would need 10x the amount of all the people you know,m people that you know personally, you probably dont have a personal interaction with a 1,000 people in a year ubless you work customer service. Now 20,000 would be well over 20x the amount of people you interact with in a year, or 200x the amount t of people you actually know and care about. Imagine literally everyone you know and love being killed 200 times over and you start to get and idea of how bad this is.
