Wisconsin Republican proposal to legalize medical marijuana coming in January

Wisconsin Republicans plan to unveil a proposal soon to legalize medical marijuana in the state and could vote on it sometime in 2024, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said.

Republicans have been working behind closed doors for years on a medical marijuana bill. Along the way, they have rejected calls from Gov. Tony Evers and other Democrats to legalize all uses of marijuana, including medical and recreational.

Vos, in an interview Wednesday, said the proposal will be limited and modeled after the medical marijuana law that had been in place in neighboring Minnesota before it moved to full legalization.

“It is not going to be widespread,” he said. “We are not going to have dispensaries on every corner in every city.”

The farm bill already legalized hemp, which is being sold all over the state (delta 9 in edibles and as thca even).

Vos and company have been in the pocket of the ulines forever. The Ulines are not only conservative Christians, they also make a lot of money off alcohol.

As someone that has a chronic pain condition but that has been denied legal access to cannabis the whole time I’ve lived here, Fuck off Vos. The farm bill already legalized thca and thc in small amounts (plenty for a gummy). You sold us out and I can’t wait until we redraw these district lines and send your traitor ass packing.

modeling it after minnesota? yes, please. 'accidentally' legalize some shit that paves the way for full legalization.

We, in Minnesota, had one of the most restrictive medical Marijuana programs in the country, with only 20 approved medical conditions that would qualify you for coverage. That, plus no flower, no growing of plants, only oils, pills, or vapes were covered. And there could only be two dispensaries in the whole state.

Trust me, it’s not a good thing to say.
