Even if they don’t force a huge fine (arguably they should literally dissolve the company, sell any assets, equally distributing the proceeds to all employees), at least we can have a tiny step forward. Progress can come in fits and starts, and it can also come one tiny little slice at a time.
If DeJoy could just get fired, and Congress could undo the asinine retirement fund the postal service is forced to fund that pays for retirement of people the post office will hire in the future. This wouldn’t be happening. They could expand service. That’s right! Georgie bush Jr and the republicans forced the USPS to pay retirement so far ahead it covers people not old enough to work there yet. Prior to that the post office had money left over and they had a good retirement plan. Plus FedEx an ups said they ain’t gonna fill in for the post office, they are not capable with their infrastructure for the prices charged. Postal service is required and a good service when it’s being run properly, and not being forced to look incompetent by two faced politicians claiming to be business savy.
He has said this before and everyone forgot. Wild that the Dem VP is an avid hunter that believes in 2nd amendment, just wants background checks, while the republican candidate wants to confiscate.
An expert witness who testified in the RNC case estimated that “approximately one-third of a [percent] of non-Hispanic White voters [in Arizona] are Federal-Only Voters, while a little more than two-thirds of a percent of minority voters are Federal-Only Voters.” So the universe of voters who registered using the federal form isn’t that large, but it is disproportionately non-white, which likely explains the GOP’s interest in this case — among other things, Republicans wanted to prevent these federal-only voters from casting a vote for president.
In 2020, President Joe Biden lost white Arizona voters, but very narrowly won the state due to his strong performance among Latinos. Biden’s margin of victory was only about three-tenths of a percent, so even a small shift in who was allowed to vote in Arizona might have changed the result.
I can’t parse this. They can’t possibly be saying 0.33% of non-Hispanic white voters are federal only.
I don’t see the inconsistency. This is dripping with dog whistle racism. Whites don’t get stopped by cops. Whites are the cops. The 2nd ammendment is for me not for thee
Alerted my folks and friends with cats. Unlikely to have spread to Canada in any meaningful numbers, but best to have the knowledge and see if that can be vaccinated against
I hope everyone makes it back safely and without incident. That is the nest outcome here. If they don’t, I hope congress has the backbone to fucking crucify Boeing, Inc.
My take on this is maybe a little calloused and mean but why is NASA involved in that decision? They hired contractors to take over the launch this part of their program. One of the contractors has an equipment problem snd that is on them to overcome in a safe manner. I don’t want the Boeing astronauts to get hurt but this isn’t NASA’s risk to accept or mitigate.
