Somehow, some way, they’re going to start being able to put “woke” educators (I.e. the ones that won’t explicitly give support to their side of the culture war) in prison, if they’re allowed to keep pushing with this.
Depending on the court’s reaction, you might already be there. Let’s hope some kind of common sense prevails and all these charges are tossed and the cop reprimanded.

The CSPOA unsurprisingly has its roots in white supremacy. The idea started through the writings of Christian Identity (white supremacist) minister William Potter Gale about Posse Comitatus which considered the country sherif as the highest government law official. White supremacist groups continued the idea throughout the 80s and 90s. When I grew up, I had always heard of talk of “constitutionalists” up in the mountains that were fine dealing with the sheriff’s departments but claimed they would shoot federal officers on site. The reality is that they were not constitutionalists at all but anti-government racists who tried to hide their racism under a very thin veneer of faux constitutionalism.
These guys care too much for the availability of certain literature in libraries in this age of the internet. This is pure ideological battle with very little impact, which may actually backfire, making those titles more prominent

The fact that an industry depends on it won’t bring the snow. I’m worried about the ski industry where I am because we didn’t have any lasting snow this past winter and I worry that it’s only a matter of time before that becomes the norm. If it’s not the case already, that is.

I'm pretty concerned that a 17 year old needing to live at the airport doesn't cause much more uproar, and that many more people are living at airports in places like Miami.
Could be traveling and was dropped off at the terminal too early to be allowed through security. I’ve done that—got dropped off at Logan airport at 9 pm for my 6 am flight. It’s when I could catch a ride. Ended up sleeping in shifts with some other college students in the same boat, all heading home for winter break.

Yeah it’s frustrating but I see Reddit getting increasingly worse over time between the platform inserting more advertising everywhere and an increase in astroturfing as Google becomes increasingly dependent. That should hopefully lead to people looking for greener (and hopefully federated) pastures.
