From the text on there, you can see it’s probably not that insecure. Au10tix is the company actually doing the identity verification and they’re an Israel-based company that seems to be pretty legit. I bet X only stores the data in-memory while they send it over to the appropriate APIs or something like that.
Not that I trust them anyway with who’s in charge over there.
The text says that you give X permission to store the image of your id for 30 days. If you trust them to delete it after that, then I don’t know how to help you.
Even if they do delete them, there will be millions of id images stored at any time.

it infuriates me to no end that so many people are willing to go over to places like blue sky, spoutible, threads. I see this and they have gotten my tip. If you work there and are upset by that, then you need to find another job because the company is stealing your tips no matter what. And I personally won’t return, because it’s never the best restaurants who pull this shit.
Similarly if a company puts automatic gratuity on my bill that’s the tip as well… And usually it’s less than I’d give freely.
If Americans are supposed to tip extra it their choice. If you want to define service charges or something like this, then you’ve made your choice. Printing is now almost universally optional. Most of the things that get printed these days are only printed because people are more comfortable. Probably a pretty scary place to be if you’re the printer division of a company.
I was talking to my friends about the same topic yesterday and they didn’t seem to bothered by it.
On a different note, even some music videos that are coming out these days have really suggestive content and Youtube puts this shit right in the front page (for a not signed in session).
We live in a world where people are getting too used to messed up stuff.
