Now that you mention it I think Ultron was just embarrassed they showed up before he was ready and was too shy to ask them to leave, his cover lie was full of holes.

Is your neighbour dual-wielding lawnmowers?

blandfordforever ,

Don’t be ridiculous. He has a lawnmower in one hand and a chainsaw in the other.

Leaf blowing for 2 straight hours when it’s still mid summer and there are no leaves on the ground.

thesporkeffect ,

It doesn’t excuse it, but sometimes you just gotta take drastic measures to drown out the intrusive thoughts… Or maybe covering up someone being tortured in the basement?

papalonian ,

He burned our crops, poisoned our water supply, and delivered a plague unto our houses

nevemsenki , in My neighbor's exact thought process

To be fair, doing my work around the house after worktime at 7PM weekdays is also not going to be very popular.

shneancy ,

I’ll take 8pm vacuuming over 8am vacuuming any day

Having to raise tv-computer volume vs not being able to sleep. I know my choice

“But I know no matter what the waitress brings, I should drink it and always be full. Yeah, my cup it will always be full.” -John Popper, Blues Traveler Song: Run Around

9point6 , in My neighbor's exact thought process

Depends on what time, for me

After about 10am is pretty fair game if a noisy job needs doing IMO. If it’s music and not obnoxiously loud, that’s probably fine too

Anyone making any noise before that though absolutely should get in the sea

runner_g ,

10 am is way too late where I live. It’ll be >90 by then, and that’s a great way to get hear stroke. Most people in my neighborhood are out by 730 working.

9point6 ,

I guess if everyone on your street is doing the same then it’s not a problem, but it’s worth noting over half the general population will have a chronotype where noise that early will be a negative for their health.

Making noise between 10am-10pm is apparently the best for everyone

UlyssesT , in My neighbor's exact thought process

Back in CA, there was a total grillman , appearance and all, that’d roll down the street in a golf cart with a massive sound system filling the entire rear behind his seat, and he’d blast out absolute trash dadrock with huge floor-shaking subwoofers, and do it all with this empty gammon grin behind his wrap-around polarized sunglasses, going back and forth at least twice a week around the same time.

He was still not as divorced as my-hero though.

I always say Thank You, and give a good amount if snark back in my emails for dumb shit.

'Hey, our guys aren’t getting their paperwork until a day or two after we send them." - manager at my work

“Did you check to make sure the schedules were being sent in a timely manner?” - vendor support

“Thats what she’s saying right there, a day or two after is not timely” - me

Silence.

CaptSneeze , in My wife is angry with somebody at our bank.

I feel seen! If you get “regards” instead of “best regards” you should know you’re on my shit list.

…THEN we wait 4 more years to vote again for another dissapointing politician.

redempt ,

this is the most pro union ticket in decades. if you want progress, the path is collective labor power. it’s how we won the weekend and the 40 hour work week. it’s how we won paid lunch breaks (which are now being lost in many places). it’s how we earned paid maternity and paternity leave. if you want things to get better and stay better, join a union, STRIKE and just keep building coalition and class consciousness.

umbrella ,
@umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

nothing pro union about union busting for the last 4 years.

and probably the next 4 if you aint naive to believe campaign promises from a career politician.

TheOtherThyme ,

Yeah, the Joe guy should take himself off the ticket or something.

Where’s the funny?

Shard ,

That’s the secret Cap.

There is none. This is just plain old lemmy.ml tankie shilling.

MrMobius , in My wife is angry with somebody at our bank.

I’d do the the opposite. I generally use the default “cordially”. But if someone pissed me off I’d use something overly formal and polite like “amicably thanking you for your eventual reply over the matter; if it pleases you”

Dirk ,
@Dirk@lemmy.ml avatar

A great passive-aggressive way of saying “As I already told you, you dumb pile of bull feces” is “As mentioned in my last mail, …”

shneancy ,

istg i have to write those words into every reply i give. Do people even read the words i write? Can they read? Should i give up?

MrMobius , in Perfection

I can relate. Most of the time this means a lot of regrets. But sometimes it leads to welcome discoveries.

Ahhhhhhhh country living is amazing. Not one neighbor.

bigkahuna1986 ,

My parents live in the country. They have one neighbor. He’s on meth so he likes to start chainsawing right around dark and continues until around 2am.

Perhapsjustsniffit ,

Yea well no neighbors is the only way to go.

TheDarksteel94 ,

Just get him more meth. He’ll stop soon.
