I don’t remember which community it was, but there was a trend of “cats in bags” earlier this week sometimes. My All feed was full of cats for a day or so.
Yup. I had $5 of Google opinion rewards money saved, so it was only 15ish out of the bank account. I work full time… I think I’ll be fine. Plus honestly, the dude worked hard creating a fantastic app. He deserves to be rewarded for that.
I know, but having separate accounts within the interfaces of each site can be helpful. If I have a Mastodon account, I know exactly how my posts are going to look and act on Mastodon. Same goes with Lemmy and Kbin.
I also have access to features on one service I wouldn't have on others. Some posts are easier to view and access from a different site or instance. Kbin doesn't have any mobile apps yet, so I use my Lemmy account when I want to access fed on mobile.
Lastly, sometimes I'm just in the mood to use one site over the other. If I'm in the mood for more Twittery content I go to Mastodon. If I'm in a more Reddit mood, I go on Lemmy. If I want to do both at the same time, I use Kbin.
Lemmy is free software licenced under AGPL and that’s what matters.
I wouldn’t use proprietary app myself, but this is individual choice and those apps won’t hurt the ecosystem because they can’t break the server’s code.
Look, I’m just as communist as the next guy on Lemmy but I don’t get how this is funny or an imitable element of culture. This is literally just your opinion.
Explaining a joke is always great fun so here we go: This is an obviously borderline braindead statement made by a person who seemingly thinks they would bring up a strong, valid argument.
I liked how, when you had an alarm set up, you could even switch off the phone and it'd still turn itself on automatically in the morning and ring to wake you up. It was actually more reliable than dedicated alarm clocks, since those needed manual time adjustment when there was a winter/summer time change, or when there was a power outage.
Nowadays, I always have to double check the phone has enough charge before going to sleep.
Leaving a lithium battery charging for a long time, even when it's already 100% can degrade it.
Most devices have failsafes against this, but I still always try to not leave a device charging if its already mostly full... perhaps it's just me being paranoid, but what I rather do is set up rules so that the phone automatically goes into airplane/battery saving mode at night.
The pixel’s adaptive charging is so good for this, I can just plug it in and not worry about it. It just slows the charging speed and has it automatically be at 100% by the time my alarm goes off.
Battery tech is so much smarter now this is barely a concern these days, especially for phones. I feel like my modern devices don’t lose any capacity over the 2 or so years I have them.
