If we factor in all of the Tory prime ministers since 2010, it’s like they’ve each taken £20 each from our wallets (thanks to austerity, Brexit, generalised incompetence, and outright insanity), and now Sunak thinks we should be grateful because after losing £100, we’re getting £5 back. And you just know he’s going to get really tetchy when no one appreciates the gesture.
I know Starmer is a bit of an underwhelming proposition BUT if you don’t punish the Conservatives for what they’ve done you’re telling them that the Liz Truss premiership was just business as usual and an entirely sane way to run the economy.
Agreed! There’s a Tory MP that needs to be removed from my constituency, and I’ll cast my vote to whoever is best placed to make that happen. I’m in a historically Lib Dem area, whose vote share collapsed in 2015, and it’s unclear whether they or Labour will be the best option come election time. I would rather vote Lib Dem, but if I’ve got to vote Labour in order to punish the Tory, then so be it.
Meanwhile Suella Braverman’s father used to run concentration camps in Kenya. Her family’s business is literally running British concentration camps in Africa, and the core goal of the Tory party in the last couple years has been to reestablish that business, all funded by the taxpayer.
And that’s before we touch on the point that the Rwanda deal is two way. The UK will accept “vulnerable refugees” in exchange for every small boat migrant we send over there.
The taxpayer pays to house them until they can be sent over. The taxpayer pays to send them over. The taxpayer pays to set up the infrastructure over there. The taxpayer pays to send over vulnerable refugees in return. The taxpayer pays to accommodate those refugees (who are far less productive than the ones we send out). Private businesses - particularly those outside the UK tax domain - profit.
Really needs some context. Here is a picture of Lewis Hamilton shaking hands with Vlad, is Mr Father-in-law doing necessary pleasantries or celebrating the sale of orphan meat?
That’s a completely different handshake, though. Hamilton won the race one Russia, but his handshake still has Putin reaching out at a distance. The OP handshake stops just short of Putin putting his arm around him - they’re much closer together, much more trusting.
Also both of these pictures are from many Yeats ago.
Not a leaver ,but European it sucked importing the hotend from e3d meanwhile getting g10 from Germany easier than local online stores except that the site was in German
“It’ll stop all of those brown people from coming over and most assuredly save us LOADS of money instead of us constantly having to support the rest of those other silly EU countries.” ~ Some Boomer Brit, probably, circa 2019
There was a bloke at work who pretty much said that. And that he wants gold top milk back…
It’s sort of backfired for idiots like that. The care homes and hospitals in my area now have a wider diversity of staff, the people these idiots don’t like the look of. Brexit restricted the supply of the people they like the look of.
A lot of it is cultural and does/will get better in time. But there’s always going to be pockets of these people unfortunately. My wife is from Asia and sadly the verbal racism is mostly from young people. I guess they just find it funny amongst their friends.
Different colour tops for different types of milk. Gold top (cap) was the full fat milk which had cream on the top. Whether it’s true or not I don’t know but he said the EU banned it because of it’s high fat content.
