I have always been discovering new things about Linux distros while distro hopping. And when I get something I really like, I just copy the package name and make sure I install it in every distro I use in the future....
Plasma 6 looks to be shaping up quite nicely already! Some really nice quality of life style updates, and I’m quite shocked (though the reasoning makes sense) to see them moving to double-click actions by default instead of single-click.
In a surprise move, Ubuntu developers have agreed to stop shipping Flatpak, preinstalled Flatpak apps, and any plugins needed to install Flatpak apps through a GUI software tool in the default package set across all eight of Ubuntu’s official flavors, as of the upcoming Ubuntu 23.04 release.

When using the Nix Package Manager on Debian 11, I have seen that it doesn’t automatically create .desktop files for GUI programs. This would have been fine if I was using nix to install one or two programs, but I was looking forward to use it a regular package manager. Does anyone know how to automate the process?
Upgraded Ubuntu to 22.04, where Firefox is Snap by default. Wasn’t going to fight it, especially since Canonical has made 3 blog posts talking about how much faster they made Firefox on Snap....
