Hello....
This was manually solved, I didn’t check any other comment till the issue was fixed....
I assume I should get rid of most of the swap. I also read somewhere to increase… swappiness of zram?
I have a GeForce 210 GPU on an EndeavourOS computer. I use Noveau drivers, but some apps like Blender have a broken user interface, and KDE acts weird sometimes. I tried installing the proprietary NVIDIA drivers following the Archlinux wiki, but I did not have any display output at all. I also tried running the NVIDIA driver...
I run Mylar on my Xubuntu server to manage my comic collection. I found out recently that there’s a tool that can convert the embedded .jpgs to .webp to save space, but it only works on cbz files and not cbr (zipped vs rar for those who don’t know). I wanted to convert all of my cbr to cbz so that I could run the tool on all...
I was daily driving Pop_OS before my System76 finally gave it up. I mostly enjoyed the experience, but when my laptop gave it up, I had to run to a big box store and grab a replacement asap. I’m now riding an HP envy touch screen fliptop and (:puke:) windows 11....

Hey Guys....
Recently I stumbled over an article, about how to customize your shell prompt. What really surprised me, is that it lacked one of the most basic tips I learned nearly 20 years back: Always display a timestamp in the prompt, to be able to check how long a process is running or when it ended. (Don’t need it daily, but every so...

At the moment I am using Debian Bookworm and I can setup/configure 100% of my setup automatically everything via Ansible. (Only thing left after the Ansible script is login to my online accounts/email which I would rather not automate.)...
Hi guys! So I seem to have audio issues. Audio will mute for like 5 seconds every 20 seconds or so. It’s very annoying, as it can make you miss whole parts of dialog. It only happens on linux, and only on gaming, so I guess it means the amp/surround system is ok. I use the TV HDMI output for audio, as it gets redirected to the...
Question 1:...
I have a public SMB share mainly as a media dump. Everyone can read and write, without any auth - as intended. However, if I copy files via SSH (as a regular user, not the samba user), these files are of course owned by that user and thus not writable for the samba user - so I can’t touch these files via SMB....
Most applications provide you configuration files that are data / text based. Whether it is toml, JSON, yaml or some other format, you are usually defining values for pre-determined keys and that’s all....

Hi all, Just wanted to know, do these all work the same? I have ext4, so no snapshots on timeshift, but I’m using it now to back up to an external SD card. I have heard good things about Pika and dejadup, and had some mishaps with timeshift. So, my question is, do they all do the same thing? Like, if I messed up something, can...
EDIT: Removing unnecessary comment to focus on what’s this about....
I tried to use Visual Studio Code a few times. One time, I encountered an error related to OmniSharp, though I don’t remember the exact details. However, Python worked fine, for example. Then, I reinstalled Arch, and now I’ve decided to try using Visual Studio Code again because I need it to learn programming. Unfortunately,...
