Just updated to Gnucash 5.2 (via flatpak) and found I can’t save the account file anywhere. It appears to be an issue with 5.2. Solution: Turn off file compression in Gnucash (Edit/Preferences/General uncheck ‘Compress Files’)

I’ve heard of immutable OS’s like Fedora Silverblue. As far as I understand it, this means that “system files” are read-only, and that this is more secure....
I have tried out Gnome, KDE, Lxqt and Xfce on a regular desktop and all of them feel nice. I haven’t tried many DE’s on a laptop....
I use CalDav for calendar, contacts and tasks sync and share with the rest of the family....
I would prefer something based on Debian, like Ubuntu or PopOS, but I’m open for other suggestions as well, as I’m looking for a distro to daily-drive on my new Framework laptop.

When using the Nix Package Manager on Debian 11, I have seen that it doesn’t automatically create .desktop files for GUI programs. This would have been fine if I was using nix to install one or two programs, but I was looking forward to use it a regular package manager. Does anyone know how to automate the process?
