I wanna try out Linux for the first time with no clue what I’m doing and this seemed like a good starter for what I need it for what do you all think?

I’m running KDE Wayland session on a Surface Pro 6 and the UI is much too small....

I’m shopping for a new NVMe SSD drive for my laptop and with the second deciding factor being Linux compatibility, I’d looked up the names of specific drives in the source code of Linux and discovered that their controllers have quirks that have to be worked around....

Lately my PC has started crashing while it plays videos. It freezes completely, screen frozen and not responding to any input (keyboard, mouse), I mean I cannot change TTY (alt + ctrl + F(1-2-…)), and it cannot even respond to alt + PrntScr + REISUB. I have to force power off by holding down the power button....

I’m using tty here, and not VT. I assume the problem is caused by my locale, more specifically - by inability of tty to render glyphs of my language....

A moment ago I unmounted my 1TB HDD with 400GB of content and I partition it into two different partitions, obviously keeping the space that was already occupied. I did because I don’t care if the content get corrupted, but after I did it everything is still working perfectly, when I thought everything would be corrupted....

was just a quick question – on the GTK side of things, we have the progression of LXDE → XFCE → Gnome – but on the Qt side of things, with LXQT → ??? → Plasma, there’s kind of a missing middle option?
