So I know my way around Linux pretty well. However I never really got the gist of the difference between Snap, Flatpak and Native packages....
I tried reinstalling the plugins several times, including neovim itself and I always get this...
I am currently using Linux Mint (after a long stint of using MX Linux) after learning it handles Nvidia graphics cards flawlessly, which I am grateful for. Whatever grief I have given Ubuntu in the past, I take it back because when they make something work, it is solid....
This might be a stupid question, but hear me out....
Hello! I’m thinking about switching from my beloved fedora to a rolling release distro, because it really intrigues me, but I’m a bit scared of Arch, it’s still too soon for me to go down this rabbit hole XD...
TLDR: SUSE plans on investing $10+ million over the next several years on developing a free binary compatible RHEL fork....
I’m using EndeavourOS. I installed btop++ as well as Disk Usage Analyzer. Both give me different disk space information....
So my wife has a 10 year old low end notbook. 500Gb of storage (HDD), 2GB of GDR3 RAM, and an intel Celeron Processor N2806. It originally came with Win 8, then she “upgraded” to win 10 and after that it was pretty much unusable. I am talking CPU and Ram about 80-90% in idle, opening a browser got everything down to a crawl....

Well the title says it all....
I’ve used Arch, Pop_OS for gaming in the past, was looking for a distro that just works and doesn’t have any extra fluff or do anything nonstandard. (For example I don’t like that some programs will only update through the pop shop on pop os and not through the terminal.)
I am fairly familiar with Linux, I’ve been using different distros for some years now and have done some config editing here and there. I am also a web developer and use the terminal quite a lot and so I always stumble on people’s recommendation to use tmux and how good it is, but I never really understood what it does and,...
I am using a Steam Deck with Mullvad VPN WireGuard. I am quite limited with the software I can install without having to reinstall on each update. On each reboot I have to manual turn on the Mullvad VPN and there is no kill-switch. I run the Steam Deck in desktop mode most of the time connected to a monitor....
Almost finished setting up my new OS, it’s gonna be my main (dual booting with Windows on separate disk). Tokyo Night theme for GTK, xfce terminal, btop and vim. Papirus Dark icons.
I’ll start:...
