I downloaded it and tried it out. I honestly haven’t used just a WM in years so I’m very excited but completely lost haha. It was pretty well out the box but I need to install waybar
If it makes you feel any better you’re not the only one. I also have this problem. Whenever it was time to upgrade my video card I’d try Ati and later AMD and it would always have some annoying issues. Meanwhile I’m on my 7th or 8th Nvidia card over the years and they’re always great.
I wish there was an easy way to run Linux and Windows side by side. Only thing I need windows is for gaming, but I would gladly use Linux for everything else.
I’ve tried dual booting, but after some time it becomes a pain in the ass with my gaming and free time schedule being so hectic.
I’ve tried running it as a VM on Windows Hyper-V and VirtualBox, but it also proved to be a hassle with multiple monitors and different file systems.
I admit it’s been a long while since I’ve checked up on Linux gaming. My main games are PoE + all the 3rd party tools that you can’t play without, BattleBit Remastered, Assetto Corsa + Competizione, F1 23, FH5, and W40k Darktide.
I also have Moza DD simracing setup, and AFAIK there are no drivers for Linux.
Does the cloud gaming work pretty well? I’m trying to consider how to move my main rig to Mint, but also not lose my three years of game pass. I think dual boot is likely but feels purpose defeating haha.
I have no technical problems. The only tricky part was setting up my controller (good old PS2), as I did have to mess with emulation and things like that. In the end, I just have to run a xboxdrv script before running the game. If you have an original Xbox controller it shouldn’t be a problem.
EDIT: If you were asking about the cloud gaming experience, it’s pretty good I would say. The image will not be as good as a “physical” Xbox, and probably you will have to deal with queues depending on your location. But, overall, it’s a pretty good deal.
Since I got curious:
It seems neither KDE and GNOME support the Wayland protocols needed to use Squeekboard.
Squeekboard is built to be used with Phosh, a Mobile Environment: phosh.mobi/about/
I’ve had some new type of BT issues in recent years and when I search for solutions there’s a wave of users complaining about Linux BT support have regressed “lately” so there’s that.
