Hi, I have an Asus vivobook pro 16x oled (M7600QC) optimus laptop with a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 Max-Q rated 50w. When I try to use the dedicated Nvidia GPU on Linux, the wattage is only 35w. If I enable the “nvidia-powerd” daemon, it goes up to ~40w. Is there a way to raise the wattage to the rated 50w like on Windows?...

I am not a member of the Anti-Snap crowd (although of course the server sources should be open source), but there is obviously a lot to improve. Flathub/Flatpak should also take note!

I guess I want to see whether there are some advanced solutions so I can play movies and anime in 120fps 4K....

Edit with solution: I’m dumb. Just use the default quickemu settings and only change "-device virtio-gpu-gl " to "-device virtio-gpu " and "-display sdl,gl=on " to "-display sdl,gl=off ". I’ve installed Pop!OS after getting my Lenovo Ideapad Pro 5 back from the warranty repair. Supposedly they changed the motherboard (which I don’t doubt, it was waiting a week for new parts apparently), but even after that I’m still getting graphical errors and bugs when moving between desktops and other window animations....

I went out and got the AMD 7800xt to do ultrafast AV1 encoding of large h264 and hevc files....
