Hello! I recently upgraded my laptop with 500 gb of storage but it’s on another disk from where I have installed linux. How can I expand my linux root partition when linux is installed on another disk and I am also dual booting with windows? I am using linux mint.
Great perspective on what Red Hat is doing with a couple historical incidents where they were violating the GPL. And at the end of the piece notice they refused to let the Software Freedom Conservancy review sales materials to make sure they were in compliance and not misleading customers. A typical megacorp with profits over...
I have been facing the annoying issue of touchpad presses while typing since my last reinstallation. I had never faced a similar situation before (or I never noticed). The disable-while-typing gnome dconf was set to false. The issue was apparently with libinput not recognizing my touchpad as internal. Thankfully, that can be...
I am receiving this error when I attempt to install via the manager, but I am able to install via Terminal. That said I am getting an option to install for either System or User, which I haven’t previously seen. I’m sure this is probably something pretty basic, but I’m fairly Linux illiterate… beyond knowing I can mess...
This is hopefully the final part of our series on Red Hat’s communication disaster regarding the changes to Red Hat source code availability through the CentOS github. Today we are looking at what the Software Freedom Conservancy has too say on the matter.

I’ll post my source in the comments if anyone’s interested....
Is there a possibility to make Linux install automatically delete the data if wrong decryption key is set x amount of times?...
I have been mostly an Arch and Fedora user but I am very impressed by Vanilla Os, it is clean and fast, their installer is beautiful and new, everything works very well, for example after a few day my last fedora install with gnome desktop was lagging a bit on my gaming laptop but I doesn’t lag at all on Vanilla Os, it always...
Do you use a non-tiling window manager like IceWM or blackbox? I use a patched version of motif window manager and it works really well....

Sorry, new to Lemmy - !debian
I see all the drama around Red-hat and I still don’t get why companies would use RHEL (or centos when it existed). I was in many companies and CentOS being years behind was awful for any recent application (GPU acceleration, even new CPU had problems with old Linux kernels shipped in CentOS)....
I didn’t find this yet, but please downvote to hell itself and drop a link to the proper prior post in comments if you find it....
