Suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?”

I read the book after seeing the movie like a dozen times and I was shocked to find how closely the film follows the book. The dialogue, the descriptions of what Raul is seeing when tripping balls, everything. You can read the book along with the movie and it just about lines up perfectly. I fucking love that.
