In general, all the “use time machine to kill Hitler” ideas (in the rare cases they are not presented as just a joke) assume that it was Hitler the person and not the socioeconomic and historical conditions that resulted in the catastrophe. There were enough little Hitlers to fill that role. If you want to prevent anything beyond small details, you have your hands full of work as a time traveler.
Go back in time and try to flag down Archduke Ferdinand’s motor carriage only for the driver to get freaked out and go down the alternate route right to where Gavrilo was trying to get to the original route but was running late because another time traveler delayed him…
We’re always most jealous of the youngest, but actually it’s better for your mind and happiness later in life to be able to handle the world better, and growing up too safe and favorites can definitely prevent that.
You know people say regardless how stupid it is, it’s not ethical to force a vaccine on someone. Okay fine. But I think anyone who refuses to be vaccinated (assuming there’s no medical reason), should spend their life in prison.
Nobody says you have to be forced to get a vaccine… bodily autonomy and all that. But you’re then making yourself into a public health hazard. So you need to be quarantined until you’re no longer a danger to society; so, until you either get vaccinated or die, you need to be separated from the rest of society.
Relatable. I was relieved I wouldn’t be doomscrolling anymore. Then i found Lemmy, which works as a doomscroll sometimes, ut also goes down or goes slow randomly, forcing me to do something else.

What’s with this meme format having repeated words at the end of the first line and beginning of the second. It happens so frequently it surely can’t just be inattention.
I think it’s a way of denoting satire. The opinion given, like the grammar used, is intentionally bad. I think it originates with r/okbuddyretard where many of the posts are created in ways that mimic how 12 year olds on the internet speak.
Probably like an 8 or a 9… I’ve had my banjo string torn like twice, wasn’t nearly as bad, probably like a 4 or a 5… a lot of blood, you’re like “wtf happened, did I fucking murder her 😳”, since I thought it was from the other party. But, still, it wasn’t that bad, like having a minor self-circumcision.
Trust me, it really isn’t that bad… it looks like it really is bad, cuz you got a piece of your dick just dangling from it, and as I said, there was a lot of blood, but it really isn’t that bad. In fact, now I get to pee straight. Before that, the frenulum (banjo string is a slang) would actually push the urethra downwords when you pull on the foreskin, so I’d have to leverage that by pulling my thing up to make it pee at the angle I wanted. I always made a mess, pissing all over the toilet 😂. Now, it’s just point and shoot, it goes where you actually point it to, not where you think it should point to, based on how much tension there is between the urethra’s opening and the frenulum 😒.
There was a post the other day about other lemmy servers that had thousands of inactive users. The OP contacted the admins of those servers to let them know and several admins did purge a load of accounts.
