It is quite common in my experience to use “getting a check” as a figure of speech. Similarly I’ll say “I get my check every Wednesday” but I have direct deposit. And I’m not even old lol

It’s not an age thing it’s a sanity thing. I was too old a few years ago, but then I lost my mind, passed through that red mist barrier where logic breaks, and now emojispeak or shyreemojii kind of makes sense
They leave this lying around every once in a while, just so it’s barely plausible when you see a convenient trailer like this in a movie. Some prop master left this here to tempt you, like the devil.
