People who post or interact with porn also post other stuff.
Tumblr died after they killed off porn, because porn users left the site. That made Tumblr less interesting for people who followed those porn users’ non-porn content, which meant that some of them left. Which in turn made it worse for people following that second group, and so on.
The same might happen the other way around. One can only hope.
Yeah you think this is just a can of fucking beans when in fact what we are looking at here is a socio political commentary on the state of late stage capitalism. Which is in fact a long arse way of stating the simple fact that who the fuck can afford branded beans in this day and age.
The wefwef app has a Reddit-style post/comment score in my profile though, and I have been wondering about where it pulls those numbers from if it’s true that Lemmy itself does not (usually) keep a sum of those scores?
That’s a myth. Betamax lost because it couldn’t record long enough. Movies had to be on two tapes. By the time they finally extended the time VHS was already dominant
