I for one believe splurging for, say, a Vallejo basic paints set is making your life considerably easier as the consistency of any given cheap craft paint pot is a lottery, but yeah, we do need much more minipainting over here!
This might be a good thing all around. Bioware needs to focus on DA and ME, they need love and attention to not have another ME:A or Anthem.
In addition 3rd party studios are usually trying hard to prove themselves, depending on the relationship it could end up great. Fallout:NV of course is a great example of a studio handing IP over to a third party.
I agree, BioWare does not need to be devoting its resources to SW:TOR at this point. It’s been out for a good, long while and the fact is, MMORPGs are not big money-makers these days. There was a huge wave of them in the wake of WoW’s success but none of them were able to achieve the kind of market success, player base or staying power of WoW. That ship has sailed, and it’s only appropriate to let the BioWare devs get back to doing what they do best.
I don’t have high hopes for the next Dragon Age game, but would love to be pleasantly surprised. They’ve changed directions so many times during the development of that game, so I’m expecting the end result to be a mess. Mass Effect gives me slightly more hope as a possible return to form for BioWare though, if they learn from Andromeda’s missteps and focus on what made the original trilogy (particularly the first two games) great.
This is a weird one, because I think the title of the game is putting people off as it’s nowhere near as popular as it should be. However, please give me a chance here to convince you to try it.
Intergalactic Fishing.
You don’t actually need to be into fishing games to enjoy it. The fishing, although about as addictive as most good fishing minigames, is only a small portion of the game.
It also revolves around a similar style of exploration to some space games, such as No Man’s Sky and Elite Dangerous. While progressing through the storyline you will gain access to undiscovered lakes with their own unique species of fish, and information collected about these lakes can be sold.
Catching fish gives you information about that fish’s likes in terms of lure, along with a few other attributes. You can then use this information to design a lure to suit it. This becomes a puzzle game, as lures are designed by arranging squares on a grid. Factors such as “shininess” and “noise” are infkuenced by putting more blocks near the edges, or leaving more holes and forming irregular shapes.
It’s primarily a sandbox game, but there is a short storyline. Once finished though, the game opens up into an addictive endgame that I don’t want to spoil. Tournaments and contracts are a nice diversion throughout the game and can also net you (sorry for the pun, but fish puns are hard to avoid) a decent amount of cash.
It’s quickly become one of my favourite games of all time.
Definitely RimWorld. There’s so many mods that improve the base game. From QoL mods that make you wonder why that isn’t default in the vanilla game, to mods that complety overhaul the actual win condition. Just overall a really fun, replayability, frustrating game.
Use mods though. It’ll make it better. Check out p-music mod while you’re at it.
I think 3 hours in I had only “played” for about 30 minutes, and to me, most of the story at that point was just trying to be as ridiculous and disturbing as it possibly could. Most of the gameplay was just avoiding falling cause dude doesn’t know how to walk. I had to go do something else at that point so I quit and never ended up coming back to it.
Maybe if I hadn’t gotten it free I might have given it more of a chance, but I definitely wasn’t a fan.
It was a kinda janky 3D Action Adventure from around 2000. Back then it had really beautiful and colorful graphics. I remember playing it on my first “real” PC and being amazed by how it looked.
It also stands out to me for being actually funny and comitting to being a comedy game.
I loved this game! The humour was my favourite part - very dry and very British. A fun shooter with a lot of variety. Amazing soundtrack by Jeremy Soule. I found the game very difficult, though - I doubt I ever got close to finishing it. How about you?
PS5 mainly. I do have a gaming pc but at the moment I’m just casual gaming on the sofa when I have time. I love the PS5, I think it’s the best Sony console since the PS2.
Oh wow that’s a bold statement. Personally i think the PS3 is better than the PS2 though. The move to online and HD graphics (for the average consumer) was huge. I know it had been a thing for a while, but that’s when it became mainstream
How come you’re such a big fan of the PS5? Is the game selection as good as the PS2?

So purely from a console perspective, taking pc out of the equation completely. The PS3 game selection was severely lacking. It was a good console and the graphical jump was awesome, but the number of games I actually had was hardly any.
PS4 was fantastic in most ways, but a lot of the games I found really pushed the hardware which resulted in the console sounding like it was going to take off, becoming overheated etc.
The pros of the PS5 for me include the SSD, which makes such a huge difference to the speed of the console. Things like switching games is a breeze. The adaptive triggers are really good when implemented into games. The graphics are fantastic. I know many people don’t see a difference, but with a 4K tv games like the newest Ratchett and Clank look phenomenal. So much more can be done with physics and effects that the game actually blew me away with what it pulled off.
People say there aren’t many games but I’ve played and loved so many PS5 games including the two Spiderman games, Demons souls remake, Ratchett and Clank, FF7 remake, Hogwarts, and quite a few more.
The console is fast, simple to use, the games I’ve played have looked gorgeous in every way, and I’m seriously excited to see what else gets released now that companies are stopping PS4 and 5 versions and just purely developing for current gen.
Master Of Orion. Both the original, it’s sequel and the modern remake. It’s nice to play something with different pacing from other games. And the random outcomes from AI throughout the game’s progression keeps things spicy from playthrough to playthrough.
