Technically not my own experience, but my partner plays Dead By Daylight and the community there seems absolutely terrible. I ask them why they play it at this point and they don’t even know.
Trails in the Sky, Yakuza Like a Dragon and D4 when friends are on it. Actually excited for the D4 season, I am going to play a class I know nothing about and not use any guides; see how far I get.
Super Mario Galaxy (1+2). Orchestrated music should be a must for main Nintendo games at this point, outside of Zelda (and the Pokémon anime, although that one’s not strictly Nintendo or used in actual games, sadly).
Tekken 3 was good evolution of tekken games, big deal and very fun to play. I think 1998 is a console gaming year, cd-base, while still PC system have to deal with hardware improve.
Oh wow. That was a really interesting read. I hadn’t heard of that YouTube channel before.
I like to post the occasional video game review on YouTube, but that’s just because I enjoy talking about video games. I work really hard to form an opinion with reasons to back up each point I make. If I’m undecided on something or am purely speculating, I’ll clearly state that. My goal is for the viewer to calmly think, huh, even though I may or may not agree, I understand his point.
I didn’t realize these kinds of things were happening in YouTube videos. It makes sense. Outrage sells so well on news channels and news websites for adults interested in current events, so it would also be aimed at other demographics.
I used to watch Zero Punctuation until I realized, even though the videos are entertaining, they’re kind of empty of any deep thought. Maybe it’s a similar situation?
I’ll keep it in mind as my kids grow up and watch more and more stuff like this.
No mention of Ori and the Blind Forest and it’s sequel yet? Those are incredible songs.
Other great soundtracks to me are definitely Splatoon, Katamari Damacy, the Atelier series, Polybridge’s soundtracks are relaxing. Valkyrie Elysium had a great soundtrack too. All the Be’elze tracks from there are wonderfully atmospheric. Big shout outs to Okami too.
A few brainless clicks now and then, you say? A couple years ago I was sick and I played the game The Longing and I remember thinking it was the perfect stuck at home sick game.
Rdr2 has so many odd controls that I literally don’t know what the melee is by default and had to look it up again when I got into another fist fight section. The narrative is basically the only thing convincing me to play. The mechanics are starting to get real repetitive and the game is insanely slow for what it is. It seems like a well done game but I wish the animations and forced pacing took a backseat to give the player more agency. I feel like I’m parts they wanted to make a cutscene but some executive said “no no we need now interaction otherwise it’s not a video game.”
