Are there any plans for a Block Party type initiative (see link for details) to assist with moderating Threads (and others)? (www.theverge.com)

One of the most difficult problems for instances which do federate with Threads (full support for both them and the Fedipact) is the lack of moderation and very large number of bad actors on Threads. The ability to share block lists and automatically apply certain types of block would help a lot. Does anything like this already...

Is it just me, or is the Lemmy search interface not... great?

I've been on the Fediverse for a little while now, but I'm only getting into Lemmy now. I've noticed that it is very cumbersome to follow communities from other instances. I was required to provide a token when I couldn’t even obtain the codes then I run...

How do server upkeep costs look like for fediverse stuff?

I’m pretty new to the fediverse, and I find the idea amazing. But one thing concerns me though. How will server owners be able to afford to run servers with massive amounts of data coming through them? Theoretically speaking, if a Reddit migration were to happen how would server upkeep costs look like?
