The original projects meant to help finding out the Lemmy communities sub.rehab and redditmigration were not really kept up-to-date after the first wave of protests. To avoid bitrot and to make sure that the community can help keep this up to date, I’m launching today fediverser.network....
Basically it just displays a stream of Fediverse posts as they come to the server. Says it streams from “Mastodon/Fediverse” and links to jointhefediverse.net, so I don’t know what the sources are....
I’ve wanted a badge that shows the instance uptime and couldn’t find any, so I created one. It’s available at uptime.lemmings.world/{your-domain}.svg and gets its data from fediverse.observer....
Fediverse has emerged as the popular choice when people look for Twitter alternatives. Personally I found Mastodon was like the early days of Twitter, without half as much toxicity....
I'm assuming most of us here want a large community. The reality is most people aren't into technology nearly as much as many of the people actually on the Fediverse. For other people who are into tech (like myself and a lot of people here), the federation technology itself being promoted as a core component of the appeal makes...

I just had that problem when you browse to a Mastodon post and ⭐️ it, or try to follow someone. The choreography is clumsy, and the kind of thing that will hinder mainstream adoption of ActivityPub....
