Greetings! I joined the Fediverse near the beginning of this year. Mastodon was the first platform I joined. Since then, I have been enjoying my experience, and recently, I joined Lemmy and found myself using that site almost as much as I did with Reddit (before the mass exodus)....
I’ve updated the bot and added the possibility of translating hardcoded links (like this one: lemmy.world/post/2355178 or this one: lemmy.world/comment/1863672) to posts/comments with links from your instance when you mention him. I’ll show an example in comments.
AFAIK, Peertube uses ActivityPub as well, but are Lemmy instances federated with them? I don’t seem to see Peertube instances on my feed. It be cool to see Lemmy comments appear below Peertube videos.
Hello, some people have told me that it is possible to see lemmy posts from mastodon. To me it makes a lot of sense to have a single app for whole fediverse. However, mastodon is not doing a good job at this....
If you are interested in sharing book recommendations with other, or just manage your books, then bookwyrm is great for that! The .world team also has a bookwyrm instance up and running at bookwyrm.world with a community here on lemmy as well at !bookwyrm. Read Ruuds original post about it here: https://lemmy.world/post/5904792...
Seems to have fixed some of the federation issues (some instances still experience some, but that probably needs to be investigated by the local admins)
about mastodon. i love centralized social networks because you can search for any post, regardless of the date of its creation, any person, any community. in mastodon, however, this does not work....
Currently lemmy is like the speedboat next to the heavy steam boat of Mastodon etc. While lemmy is still dynamic and flexible and can introduce new features easily without scaring off its established user base, mastodon can not do such experiments so easily. Now, if lemmy gains more momentum in the fediverse and establishes...
I notice often people might cross post something and say (for instance) cross posted from lemmy.ca/post/1916492 (random example which is the link that I just followed)...
I’m asking because it is really difficult to find a place for discussing accessibility in Fediverse posts beyond the limits of any one Fediverse server application....
Regardless of the negative aspects, Meta joining the Fediverse will definitely make the numbers of active users explode. This will probably bring the network and its concepts to many people and also a matter of public debate.
