I have played Eve Online so many hours, and it’s a bad game. Don’t do it. you will spend hundreds of hours dreaming about the cool thing you’ll do later, but for 99% of players the cool thing will never happen. You will be part of the one percent’s cool thing....

I have a question? Why are there so many links to reddit on lemmy? We need our own content and not just bots linking to subreddits.

The arguments I’ve heard about tracking etc are misguided and don’t understand the actual risks....

I’ve been using wefwef WebApps to browse the fediverse and am curious to understand how it works. I do not have knowledge deep knowledge about coding or programming.

So if I understand GDPR correctly: If I want a service/business to remove all my personal data, they have to comply with it in a certain timespan or get in trouble with the law....

When I was on reddit, “Hot” sorting (of both main page and subreddits) usually was more than enough to see ones that are new and popular at the same time...

When I sub to a community, I don’t see all the posts if I’m logged in to my instance. If I go directly to url of the community I can see all the posts....

I see people cross-posting but I don’t know how they are doing it. All I see for posting options on the lemmy interface is a single community I can select.

I loved the stories. Is there a community for horror-stories?

As the Fediverse grows more and more, rules and regulations become more important. For example, is Lemmy GDPR compliant? If not, are admins aware of the possible consequence? What does this mean for the growth of Lemmy?...

Is there any way to view all posts on a given instance (as if that instance was your home instance and set to “local”), and not just a specific community/communities you are subscribed to?...

I’ve seen quite a few homes with no tvs to be seen, like what are yall doing with your time? I couldn’t imagine a family room without a tv.

I understand that a user on any instance can subscribe to any community in the fediverse, but I have been a bit confused when searching for communities to join. Sometimes there are communities on different instances, with the exact same name....

Why is it that I can find the dogs community lemmy.world with over 2k subscribers while the same community does not appear when I search from vlemmy?
