Looks fine. You have better screen estate, 7.5 posts while I only have 6 posts on a screen.
I think the reason why I changed from Jerboa was the data usage at the time (July last year). It’d download the entire picture instead of thumbnails. Sometimes it lagged.
The reason why I liked RiF was basically only that I had used it so much that I knew where everything was. I’ve been using Connect long enough that I’m not eager to switch at the moment.
Wow okay the app is buggy AF, I thought my first comment replied to you but after submitting it showed me responding to me. So I’m high and just assume I made a booboo, no problem delete and re-reply correctly. Except it did the same thing after submitting, I refreshed and both are correctly responding to you. Wtf I’m not buying this app it makes me look like an idiot 😆
it only works if you both have the 'RCS' chat option enabled within your sms app. so if you switch your rcs to off, you won't be able to edit your sent texts and senders will not be able to change messages you've received. however, rcs messages are often faster than standard sms.
I missed the news that K-9 was becoming Thunderbird for Android. I used to use it before switching to FairEmail, I think because development had stalled. It’s a solid choice, hopefully they don’t add too much in like they have with the desktop version.
The feature only appears if both devices in the conversation have it.
I always thought of SMS as a bit like regular mail. (i.e. the message handed to the network with some addressing label with no feedback for the sender)
But this implies that there is some kind if handshake occurring between the devices, how does it really work?
Or they do it like their e2e-encryption: proprietary extensions to RCS without any compatibility with other RCS apps (not that there’s any, given it’s necessary to partner with Google to do so).
