Perhaps it’s not a “israeli” war? Perhaps if there would be no Gaza this military machine would burn Syria, Lebanon, what ever? Perhaps this is power and money? Perhaps it’s about nothing more?
I don’t know the details of how the Palestinian government works, if this is legit, or if this means the war is over or whatever. But I do know that if the war ended today, there will still never be real peace after all of the chaos. I cannot fathom the amount of hate and vitriol that has been progenerated inside of Palestine.
I am not really educated on the previous Palestine/Israel conflict, but it all seems irrelevant now, because the current military action was brutal enough to keep it going for the next hundred years, no matter who was “right”.
Saying Israel commits genocide is funny. However, Ben-Gvir does not help the conflict at all and his far right opinions just burry the potential for a solution.
I’m curious, what’s the value to Hamas of not releasing all hostages? Will that lead to even more relentless shelling since other countries know their people have been freed? Or what? I don’t know enough about this situation or war in general to understand.
Hamas will release more hostages if their demands are met which mostly includes the release of Palestinian and Hamas associated prisoners in Israel.
Israel has no interest in negotiations or the hostages, hence why Hamas has barely been releasing any because their demands haven’t been met.
Qatar, hosting some Hamas leaders and/or affiliates, has been acting as third party to negotiate the few hostage releases so far in exchange for some very small demands.
