For those who are unaware, the soldier who killed Castleman is a member of the Hilltop youth, which is a known extremist pro-settler group who want to get rid of all Palestinians in West Bank. The soldier had actually been interviewed prior to this and stated that he was really excited to "check that box", ie kill a Palestinian for the first time.
That’s not how visa bans work ‘As a result, the Secretary of State may order U.S. consular officers at U.S. embassies and consulates in these countries to implement visa restrictions on certain categories of visa applicants. These sanctions may remain in place until the Secretary of Homeland Security notifies the Secretary of State that removal cooperation has improved to an acceptable level.’
The names of those sanctions have most likely already been uploaded to the US embassies and consulates in Israel, waiting to be denied if they go and try to get one.
And unfortunately Biden grated visa waivers for Israel earlier this year. Nobody has to apply for a visa so there is no screening process or way to weed these bad actors out.
People say police efforts to evacuate citizens from their home before they indiscriminately shoot it up looking for criminals is a crime. Also they have previously just taken houses they evacuate and not allowed their owners return. Silly people, always overreacting based on current and past events.
Jewish guy defending own country against terrorists makes obvious statement in regards to situation where terrorists are being armed by the same mob the clown army of Russia are being armed by, and you think this makes him on the wrong side of history?
Fighting against occupiers is the right side of history
Russia trying to occupy Ukraine is bad
Israel occupying Palestine, forcing the natives into shitty ghettos as they keep stealing land, is also bad
But zelensky has to keep America happy for geopolitical reasons, and America has to keep Israel happy for geopolitical reasons. And so, principle and ideals stop mattering
Ukraine isn’t killing Russian civilians at bus stops and music festivals. hamas is. whatever your grievances and “justification”, this makes you a amd anyone who supports this a monster
But how is Hamas the same as the entirely of Palestine? Ukraine is a country, Hamas is a military group that hasn’t held elections in 16 years.
Also could you explain how exactly this always boils down to Israel VS Hamas and not Israel vs Palestine? Because last time I checked, when you rape, kill, and murder people and keep them in prison with no fair trial and no means of peaceful protest, things will eventually backfire with an extremist group taking over the steering wheel. We have Israel to blame for Hamas. If they had not created such impossible circumstances for Palestinians and especially those in Gaza, no one would have to stand behind an Islamist organization that effectively detached itself of all other Palestinian resistance groups.
Yes, standing with an apartheid state aggressor and occupier (aka Israel) is standing on the wrong side of history. It adds to the irony that Russia is doing the same to Ukraine.
Being Jewish doesn’t mean it’s acceptable to support Israel’s “right to self defence” which doesn’t mean what you may think it means. We discovered (over several decades) that Israel “defending its borders” means killing and oppressing disproportionately more civilians and children than it does killing “terrorists” and keeping Gazans in an open air prison. In essence, every country has the right to self-defence, this statement is true. However, no county has the right to commit one war crime after the other and get away with it.
Because Likud in Israel is shitty, now Rabbis can't be trusted to tell what was said when one of their patrons was stabbed near the headquarters of Chabad? Your opinions are something else.
Times of Israel is reporting something a rebi said about some guy he allegedly knows that was attacked in NY...
Yeah gonna need a little more evidence. This article is classic trust me bro set up. Fake antisemitism is a pretty popular fake news genre especially since Oct 6.
For those unfamiliar Herzog is the president of israel. Israel was likely a major supplier of weapons for the the Rwandan Genocide and refuses to disclose the documents for it
The state’s evidence and rationale behind keeping the information sealed was presented behind closed doors; however, it was based “only off of relevant considerations,” according to the court’s decision.
“In Israeli law, there is no legal right that is absolute, and even the right to information… is permitted to be passed over in light of other protected interests,” the justices ruled.
And also… Israel is committing Genocide right now.
It was already meaningless. But this is what Israel demanded, so Biden was always going to agree to it.
Sanctions matter when they’re applied to those in power, or if you don’t care about civilians an entire geographic area…
Israel is about to isolate all of Palestine from international banking btw. They said they wouldn’t if these meaningless sanctions weren’t cancelled, but they know there’s no repercussions from going back on their word when they own both our political parties.
The Palestinian economy is based on the Israeli currency, the shekel, making it reliant on ties to Israel and its financial dealings with the rest of the world must go through the Bank of Israel and Israeli banks.
Earlier this month, the far-right minister Smotrich threatened to paralyse the Palestinian Authority’s economy in response to the United States imposing sanctions on four West Bank extremist settlers accused of violence against Palestinians.
It’s a US politics thing. Everyone that sets foot in the White House has to play ball, they just don’t know it until they get there. It would’ve been interesting to see Bernie react to the reality of things in the highest office, but that’s probably exactly why they never let him in.
Bernie is the only US politician that actually fights for the common man. And the only reason I think he’s still a politician is because he’s got the support of enough people behind him that America’s oligarchy can’t stop him from at least holding some official positions of power and decision making. But I don’t ever see him being president of this nation, and at his age, it’s likely too late now.
You act like biden is forced to be shitty. I dont believe that, hes just shitty. If bernie ever won i do not believe he would cave to such idiotic ideas.
I think your mindset is a little too naive nowadays, especially seeing what both Biden and Obama have been capable of once in office. Very idealistic before getting there, but it must be a hell of a load on their shoulders with no real right answer to many things, based on factors we might not even be aware of. I agree that Bernie might fight back harder, and that’s exactly why I said the easiest solution is for them to not even give him the chance.
"There is limited space and great risk in putting Rafah under further military escalation due to the growing number of Palestinians there,” Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Saturday during a press briefing, warning that an escalation would have “dire consequences.”
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Egyptian officials warned the decades-long peace treaty between Egypt and Israel could be suspended if Israel Defense Forces’ troops enter Rafah, or if any of Rafah’s refugees are forced southward into the Sinai Peninsula.
In addition, Saudi Arabia — which has already conditioned normalization with Israel on an end to hostilities and steps toward the establishment of a Palestinian state — issued a statement Saturday warning of “the extremely dangerous repercussions of storming and targeting the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip,” given the city being “the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of people.”
Meanwhile
According to Netanyahu, an assault on Rafah is critical to completing Israel’s stated war aim of dismantling Hamas. Earlier in the week, the premier rejected Hamas’s “delusional” terms for a hostage deal, which included a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Strip and the release of hundreds of terrorists serving life sentences.
Terrifying. Even if Israel does the ‘humanitarian’ thing of further forced displacement before assaulting Rafah, where would they go? Even during the ‘pause’, Palestinians who tried to return back to their destroyed houses in the north were shot by the IDF.
How easy it is to move 1M+ people who are not extremely fond of you to a different place in Gaza and what is this magical place that has existing infrastructure that can handle the humanitarian needs of those 1M+ people.
And I also doubt that destroying another city in Gaza will achieve anything but strengthening the resolve of locals to continue fighting and push even more people into the embrace of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, etc.
Why do you think terror groups aren’t flourishing in times of peace and prosperity?
Clearly the right way to end terrorism is with more terrorism Counter Terrorism. No way analysing the situations’ underlying material conditions to improve QoL and de-radicalize could dramatically reduce any support for terrorism, it must be internal/cultural instead of external factors /s
Oh yeah and they returned all their hostages because of their war pressure. This turned out to be such a great idea. /s
Israel is most likely complicit for some of their casualties, by bombing them, they also managed to shoot three of their own who happened to be shirtless and waving a white flag and shouting in Hebrew, and saved a single hostage. Such a magnificent successful story!
Hamas is fucking disgusting. They could end this now, but there is no end to the number of Palestinian martyrs they’ll sacrifice for their anti-zionist views.
