Mrkawfee , to worldnews in Saudi Arabia says Hamas leader's killing was 'blatant violation' of Iran's sovereignty

Is this the US pulling favours to placate Iran?

geneva_convenience ,

Iran does not care for the opinion of Saudi

Mrkawfee ,

Normally not but since the start of the genocide the Saudis have started hedging their bets given how the US no longer has any credibility in the region.

filoria OP , to world in Athletes undercover? Global and U.S. anti-doping agencies clash over tactics

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) says U.S. agency USADA broke the global code by letting several athletes it had caught between 2011 and 2014 violating drugs rules go undercover and keep on competing without prosecution in exchange for information on other violators.

US gold medals, 2000 to 2016:

2000 - 37 (300 events)

2004 - 36 (301 events)

2008 - 36 (302 events)

2012 - 48 (302 events)

2016 - 46 (306 events)

On one hand, we have clear US overperformance in gold medals from the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. On the other hand, we have proof that athletes CAUGHT DOPING between 2011 and 2014 were allowed to continue competing for years afterwards.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, maybe it’s a duck?

This definitely is a double standard that is unequivocally unfair. Snitching is lame anyway so just work to have a robust testing protocol that is evenly applied globally. Easier said than done, I know.

Tragic: the worst person in the world just made a valid point

Well, finally some good news for the people of Venezuela.

Musk used the social network to accuse the self-proclaimed socialist leader of a “great electoral fraud.”

“Shame on the dictator Maduro,” Musk said on Monday in a post.

Who knew there would come a day I agreed with Musk. Hell must have frozen over and I missed it.

dogslayeggs ,

Conversely, I never thought I’d praise anything Maduro did.

OlinOfTheHillPeople ,

He’s blocking all outside media because he controls all the internal media.

As much as twitter sucks, this is not good for Venezuela.

dogslayeggs ,

Solid point.

ABCDE , to world in Venezuela's Maduro blocks X access in country for 10 days

Don’t threaten me with a good time.

Reverendender , to world in Venezuela's Maduro blocks X access in country for 10 days

Mm hmm, mm hmm, I see. And when are these fights going down?

CyberMonkey404 , to worldnews in Saudi Arabia says Hamas leader's killing was 'blatant violation' of Iran's sovereignty

Weren’t Saudis bombing the Houthis? Outside of Saudi Arabia?

ms_lane , to world in Mexico rejects Ukraine's request to arrest Russia's Putin during visit

They can’t.

The Cartels though… I’m sure CIA would give some discounts on guns, hell maybe even a prisoner swap if they had Putin…

Plopp ,

You don’t think Putin would offer them something to let him go?

venusaur ,
@venusaur@lemmy.world avatar

Honestly, this would be a good move by the CIA. Let them fight each other, unless it backfires and they join forces…

BirdyBoogleBop ,

Best case scenario is it backfires. What do you think they are going to do with the weapons/money you supply them for capturing him?

catloaf , to world in Mexico rejects Ukraine's request to arrest Russia's Putin during visit

How would he even get there? He’d probably have to fly south to Turkey then over northern Africa to get there, to make sure he didn’t fly over any country that might force his plane down, or land to refuel in any country that might not let him take off again.

Gsus4 ,
@Gsus4@mander.xyz avatar

fly over the Pacific, but probably not worth the risk, effort just to give a blessing nobody wants.

Moonrise2473 , to world in Mexico rejects Ukraine's request to arrest Russia's Putin during visit

Why would Putin go to the inauguration of a random president? He didn’t go to the inauguration of their best pals in Iran, I can’t see why he would go that far in Mexico for no reason. What Mexico puts on the table for him? Weapons? Drones? Large orders of oil/gas? Otherwise it’s a waste of time for the little dictator.
