I don't understand, the CCP has stated multiple times that sanctions has had multiple beneficial effects on Chinese firms such as Huawei, causing them to become more independent and effective in the face of adversity. Why stop now?

Yeah, assumming that a surplus is not paying debts to every service you agreed by law to sustain…

Gordito , to news in Argentina posts largest monthly primary surplus yet under Milei

Funny how economy was supposed to be a tool for humanity and civilization. Instead it has become the purpose. Humanity’s well being and civilizations are now secondary to a healthy economy.

    iopq ,

You can’t provide for people without a healthy economy. You assume it’s one it the other

    Gordito ,

Define “healthy” economy? Would you say the USA & Europe are “healthy” economies? Would you agree that poverty, a constantly increasing wealth gap and access to affordable housing, medicine and education are some factors that define an economy’s “health” ?

    iopq ,

The US economy after the pandemic is better in almost any indicator. Europe hasn’t fared as well

RandAlThor OP , (edited ) to world in China coast guard personnel a "band of barbarians", says Philippine navy official

I found this part interesting: ““We were unprepared for that kind of response,” Philippine navy spokesperson Roy Trinidad said in a phone interview on Thursday. “We stuck with the rules of engagement. They were not allowed to use guns except for self defence.””

So China created the conditions for this kind of confrontation by including non-use of guns in confrontations, similar to its border with India. And then proceeds to create this aggression with swords and spears. Philippines was too naive. China is escalating tensions there, taking things to the edge of sparking a hot war without having one.

Interesting. The article talks about more regional freedom on spending taxes and rendering services. How about tax collection? If tax collection is unchanged, then there should still be equalising wealth transfers across regions.
