I haven’t “left” Reddit yet, but I also have been avoiding the site as much as possible. If they’re going to be a terrible site, the least I can do is try to avoid going on and making them money from ads.
Or at least only doing so at home where I have my PiHole box to remove them.
Good for you. Some of these board members are retirees who try and get a sense of power from policing rules unnecessarily. I hope I have better things to do with my time when I get old.
I know I am ageing myself here, but I always imagined that Slurm (being purple straight from the source) would taste like the grape version of these if anyone remembers them:

But I do remember Squeezit. I even remember being psyched about the restaurant they had (was kinda like a Chuck E. Cheese, but for poor people like us).
I hadn’t even heard of Lemmy until a few days ago. Maybe it’ll ride the momentum. End of the month there will probably be another influx, considering the reddit changes.
Let’s hope so! Some of the communities are a bit empty still. Hopefully it’ll change. :)
I worked at a nursing home as a cook, I guess it was a nice one? We had a nutritionist and made like cafeteria food, then chopped half of it up for the people who had problems, then puréed it for the ones who couldn’t feed themselves.
Profit has become a tyrant. We used to make people happy in its name, now we shape everything in its service.
