I’m pretty sure some or all of the Toys R Us employee pension was plundered in the reorg after private equity bought the company out in2018. I remember reading about it thinking it sort of made sense technically but it was pretty egregious on a human level. This post is too true. Similar to the old Stalin gem about how killing one is a tragedy but a million is a statistic. If you’re gonna do something bad do it BIG.
The weather is insane in Australia. It’s good all the time.
I said to my girlfriend “honestly it worth the skin cancer for this weather.” She laughed and said “I know what you mean”
The standard of living is just so much better when most days are a good day to be outside, rather than looking forward to a few weeks or a few lucky weekends a year. No long dark winters. It’s insane. I’m not sure I can live like I used to.
Even if you die young you have lived more because you have managed to do things rather than be stuck at home.
Brave + privacyBadger is about the best you can do. If you turn all the features on it anonymizes your plugins and screen res returns enough that you can’t be identified by a unique configuration.
It supports TOR for private browsing natively.
I don’t trust them more than Mozilla, but the do a better job at keeping my browsing habits out out the hands of my ISP and the sites I visit.
I absolutely do play it, but I still have to manage my plays considering its rarity. It sounds great, and the sound of the record really pops out when you hear the record as compared to online sources.
I randomly decided to just look at who had copies of Falling and Laughing on Discogs (Which you can see in the statistics section). Then I just thought “Would anyone be willing to actually sell it to me?”, and then I message everyone who was visible that had a copy. Most of them said that they treasured this record (for obvious reasons) and would never get rid of it. Then one of the guys emailed me and said he was downsizing his collection, as he was downsizing his home as well. I negotiated with him for about two weeks, and I was able to get a bunch of records, including every other Postcard Orange Juice record.
The person is in offline mode and has attempted to use a feature that requires an online connection. Maybe a puzzle of the day or vs mode or something. The pop up is saying the feature they want isn’t available in offline mode and is just asking if they want to go online. No asshole design, no software gore. Just a message that’s a little misleading out of context.
Though I don’t know this game so that might all be entirely incorrect and it might just be asshole design. Would be a weird way to phrase it though.
I’m not the original poster either, but it’s the Microsoft Solitaire Collection and I’ve seen my aunt play it. I’ve heard her say that she wasn’t able to play it when her Internet connection was down. I’m not sure what mode she wanted to play, but I definitely know that this game is full of ads and has microtransactions and subscriptions. This is Solitaire, remember.
