We’ve got one of those in my town. The height is only 10’ 8", and the road makes a V going under the tracks. Long wheelbase trucks might make it through until the front wheels start going up the hill on the other side.

EldritchFeminity ,

There’s a train bridge like that in my hometown, but it’s directly over the base of a fairly steep hill. Pretty much anything bigger than a work van is likely to hit it, and I’ve seen a couple of box trucks with the top 6 inches or so of their roof peeled back like a half-open can of sardines.

Why bother with a doctor at all then

Talkie Toaster is insulted

It’s getting worse in more ways than one, I wouldn’t argue against that. But getting banned isn’t something I’ve come across. Posts removed or zero engagement on comments? Yes, all the time.

I feel like the way to get banned from /parenting is to bring up anti-natalism or childfree.

Poor guy, heartbreaking to see

Was this photo taken some time around 2007 or did something change that made this year so bad?

Infynis ,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

That’s the current total. There’s road work routing more people through there at the moment, but there kind of always is. Penny’s also getting a lot more attention now, so the historical numbers may be underreported

some_guy , to cat in Got a package and left the tiny box on the bed. Now it's her box.

It was always her box.

I really liked Postal.

Tbf I thought unintentional hitlertoaster was pretty funny, but I definitely wouldn’t go with it haha.

Yeah, better to skip that design, just in case…

Try the coroner.

DaddleDew , to mildlyinfuriating in One car accident, endless spam calls

Can you explain how a car accident lead to this?

usrtrv ,

Exchange contact info with someone after the accident then that someone is extremely petty. That’s my guess.

fuckwit_mcbumcrumble ,

Yes but what are they doing to get all these spam calls? Are they petty and signed OP up for a bunch of spam?

entropicdrift ,
@entropicdrift@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

There are websites where you can sign someone up for as much spam at once as possible

Montagge ,

Some places accidents are public record so it could be predatory lawyers

c0smokram3r ,
@c0smokram3r@midwest.social avatar

I would agree w this. Had a parent get into a minor fender bender & had to help field calls from multiple injury lawyers.

I’ve never understood why things like this have to be a part of public record. Traffic accidents, traffic citations, bankruptcies, buying a house, and even getting divorced.

All of those are very personal things that should never be a part of public record. And even if they are, the PII should not.

Zachariah ,
@Zachariah@lemmy.world avatar

Simple improvement: Add a fee to access the personally identifiable information. And make the record of accessing the information public.

Not perfect, but better.

LodeMike ,

That wouldn’t fix anything. There would be a site reselling it for a lower price or a large subscription fee for a specific area.

Almost anything made by governments is public domain so it’s legal.

spookex ,

baggins ,

Bankruptcy should 100% be a public record.

AlexWIWA , to memes in The 2024 Reddit mod experience

The reason bans are permanent more often these days is because of the new Reddit ui. It defaults to permanent and too many mods are lazy.
