PSA that you will never find any hidden gems at Goodwill ever again. Goodwill started an e-commerce website and they have people in the back who sort through everything and anything of any value is sent to e-commerce and appraised and sold at auction.
So the days of going to goodwill and finding cool stuff are over, it’s all just dead people’s clothes now. Support your local thrift stores by going there instead
It’s a lot more rare for sure. Some still do have nice stuff, but it’s much, much more of shitshow than it used to be. Unfortunately not many independent thrift stores around me, and the few that are generally have nice deals even less often than goodwill.
I remember I used to see xboxes and PlayStations on the shelves frequently. In the last year I’ve seen 2 wiis, 1 wii u, and 1 Xbox 360. No computers anymore. No cool software. The shelves are getting more barren.
I wanted to love this game, the story was amazing. But playing this now, man… the graphics are so washed out and bland. I’m not asking for the best quality, but man, it really didn’t age well visually.
With that said, if anyone has any graphical overhaul mods they know of that are good, please send them my way because I would love to actually play through the title.
This screen shot is great though, the shining jewel in the desert peaking over the rocks.
There was a guide I followed a guide a few years ago for a graphic overhaul that looked amazing. But I can’t find it now. My suggestion would be the nexus collections page and see which collections suit your taste
At login, press ctrl-alt-f4 or f5 or one of the F* keys until you get a text based login screen. (Might need to press enter on a blank screen for the login to appear)
This probably one of those fake job postings I heard about.
I would be willing to bet that it is a Ghost Job. I sympathize with that struggle. I’m sure I have applied to a couple of those recently, too.
I found that many ghost jobs stay up for a while, so what I started doing to find leads was utilize search engine operators to find recent postings. Something like: (site:greenhouse.io | site:workday.com) after:2024-07-24 “system admin” That should find “system admin” jobs posted on workday and greenhouse, commonly used as internal job boards, posted in the last couple of days.
You could even add more job boards to the list by using site: between the parenthesis and separated with bars to expand your search. Or you could change the after statement to today to find very fresh jobs to try to find posts less than 24 hours old and be among the first applicants.
That trick (or maybe just my persistence with an overwhelming portion of luck, idk) managed to eventually get me something new, so I’m hopeful it wasn’t a fluke and it can help someone else, too.
“Nobody wants to parkour their way through our application obstacle course for (a chance at) a probationary position with shit pay and no benefits that we can yank away at any time because we don’t like the color of tie they wore during our mandatory unpaid off-hours team building event.”
