Doolbs , to aww in Wallace is back!

That damn Wallace. Why’d you let him come back?

Seriously though, he/she is pretty fantastic.

Who’s the buddy we can see?

anarchoplayworker OP ,
@anarchoplayworker@lemmy.world avatar

It’s Gromit! And yeah, they are both pretty great, right? We picked them up a few days ago from the shelter. They shouldn’t be with us long, I’m sure they’ll get scooped up right away with faces like theirs.

Bebo ,

Came across Gromit on another post. Seriously both are so cute!

anarchoplayworker OP ,
@anarchoplayworker@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, they are both like kitten models. It’s ridiculous.

Bebo ,

Totally agree with you. They are gorgeous.

25thSkye , to youshouldknow in YSK: wefwef is a web app that look very similar to Apollo and works on both android and ios

Been loving wefwef, but how do I add more instances to the app? I’ve been trying to add libreddit but it’s not available.

DoctorWhookah ,

Bottom center, click that icon. Then top left select Accounts. Click edit then the plus sign to enter a new instance. I have 3 in mine.

25thSkye ,

I’ve added kbin and lemmy, along with an instance some redditors from my country created, is it limited to 3 instances?

If you look closely you can see the Gipfelkreuz on top of the highest part of the mountain!

    Gorgeous.

    I read the title and thought this was going to be a lemmyshitpost about beans, though.

    hexual OP ,
    @hexual@lemmy.world avatar

    Maybe I should’ve photoshopped a little can of beans on one of the boulders or something…

    I can't get it to work with Kbin. It only has a list of Lemmy instances and it doesn't recognise Kbin.

    ryo ,

    I’m able to use with my account that’s not from one of the instances listed (still lemmy though).

    lemmyvore ,

    I don’t think there are any apps that support both Lemmy and Kbin currently. Artemis says they’ll eventually do both but not sure it’s usable now.

    Last I checked Kbin didn’t have an API which is why you see fewer apps for Kbin I guess. Those that work do so by scraping the web pages. Maybe that’s changed in the meantime.

    To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits

    • Verified accounts are limited to reaching 6000 posts/day
    • Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
    • New unverified accounts to 300/day

    ^I’m a human volunteer transcribing posts in a format compatible with screen readers, for blind and visually impaired users!^

    Iceman ,

    This post has over 600 comments atm. Imagine if this comment thread was all you got out of lemmy in a day lol.

    BornVolcano ,

    I’m a bit confused what you mean by this

    annhedonia ,

    If you were to apply Twitter’s new throttling limits to lemmy you wouldn’t be able to view this entire thread (each comment = 1 post in twitter terms).

    BornVolcano ,

    Lmao wait you’re right

    SirAramis ,

    Thank you for this!

    If you'd install the "show karma" user script, you might cause an integer overflow. Immensely good work that you are doing.

    BornVolcano ,

    Haha, back on reddit I got to about 90k, and a good portion of that was transcribing.

    I’m actually kind of glad it doesn’t show it here. I get to be judged by the content of my post, not by my accumulation of upvote points.

    I am amazed that this transcribing thing went from Reddit to the Fediverse. Good work 👍

    BornVolcano ,

    Well, that transcribing thing is volunteers, and I brought it with me haha

    And thanks!

    It seems to be a heavily enforced thing on Mastodon to provide alternate text for images for the same reason, although I’m admittedly bad about it myself. I wonder how well some of those AIs could do, they create pictures from text, so why not the other way around?

    Super basic, but check the quality of your power supplies, it’s not going to be a smoking gun, but a good quality, stable power supply is worth investing in

    bazpoint , to moviesandtv in Nimona (2023) is probably the second best movie I've seen this year! Have you/will you see it?

    I'm so glad they've filmed it... I read the graphic novel last year completely at random (someone bought it for my daughter & I thought it looked interesting)... still, it seemed quite obscure & I couldn't believe it when I was listening to a movie podcast and a review of it came on. It's a great story and I can't wait to see it on the big screen.

    I really, really hope that he can find the time to make LiF, or KbiniF, or some other fediverse browsing app because man was RiF perfect (for me at least) in every way.

    Glitter_Pubes ,

    True, other apps may have been great as well but RIF was so good I never explored other options. Perfect for me, or close to perfect that I never went anywhere else.

    Isthisreddit ,

    Yeah 100%. I was just telling my friend that RIF was perfect in everyway, and they threw it away. I then explained to him it’s like using a particular version of Photoshop for a decade, then one day you walk into the office and it’s all gone - now time to use Corel Draw instead

    emptyother , to sysadmin in Someone shouldn't be able to have the @admin username
    @emptyother@lemmy.world avatar

    What if a persons real name is Admin in some weird language?

    A bit far-fetched I know. Still, I think that if theres gonna be a global hardcoded blacklist of usernames, someone should be very careful which words is added to that list. Each specific instance would know better what words is good and what is bad in their main language(s).
