Maybe consider digitizing that cassette, or at least listening to it to make sure it’s still usable (assuming you can stomach it). Same!! We have one in the retention pond where I live. Still small so not a nuisance yet. The problem is convincing neighbors feeding it is a bad idea.

Dude was crazy the whole time but “I’m going to come back and do something” is actually pretty serious imo, and the cops won’t act on it as a threat in my area because it is too unspecific, so I’m on my own.

Keep in mind, they technically don’t even have to use Instagram’s internal data to do that, they could have scraped publicly available Instagram / Twitter data to do the same.

Well count me in. It took me two weeks to successfully create an account, but it finally didn’t crap out on me.
Maybe this is the good thing. Let Reddit stay filled with the lowest common denominator and divisive politics. Making Lemmy a little more hassle than the common user wants to experience to get into might be the only thing that keeps it from becoming the ban heavy echo chamber Reddit is.
