So yeah. Housing the homeless is an effective solution. There are more empty homes than homeless in the US at least. And you can subsidize or build new places for this purpose, especially if they are transitory for the majority. And it’ll still be cheaper than dealing with all the knock-on effects of homelessness: litter, crime, health issues, etc.
Public services in capitalist and communist societies are often hindered by inefficiency and corruption, causing issues with access to public housing. Public services are often influenced by political agendas and it can be difficult for disadvantaged groups to access. I think the problem has more to do with the fact that humans are common to fall into nepotism and greed. This is not a problem that is siloed to either economic solution. (www.history.com/news/ukrainian-famine-stalin)

Beep beep hold on let me get out of my car hhhyyyup
Alright OK what do I have written here
“BUT TOTALITARIAN DICTATORS AND THOUGHT POLICE”
Smoke on that one!!!
OK now I’ve got to get back into my car, which is significantly harder than getting out, due to its comically small size and my giant bright red shoes and nose
around here, people use "alternate" vehicles, like atv, snowmobiles, lawn mowers and tractors, etc. to get to the bars because they lost their license. have not seen a forklift parked outside of one, though----yet.
some of their cars and trucks may still be wrapped-around a tree or in a ditch, or were impounded. and you can get ticketed for driving them without a license, but you can't get a ticket for cruising down the road on a lawn tractor without one (afaik, you could still get a dui though).
This. A lot of kids drove golf carts to the pool and stuff, but while that would be semi-legal in their gated community, they had to cross a public road where even licensed drivers would be breaking the law. No one seemed to care though. I’m fairly certain it’s illegal in most US states.
