My dad was killed before I was born, and I was raised by sisters and aunts. So you can take your hollering about the patriarchy somewhere tf else lol. Got any other talking points you’d like to try out?
If that’s true and not an attempt to emotionally stun the conversation as is common in dipshit trolls, I’m sorry for your loss.
Back to your dumbass toxic masculinity comment now - you literally argued that they were being “emotional” despite nothing in their argument being emotional
But yeah we can pretend you somehow had a point lmao
That Texas heat has you delusional. hopefully climate change from the massive meat farm industry won’t fuck up that privatized (lmao epic win right) electrical grid yall rely on.
Lord knows I’ll be lobbying that you all get not one penny of aid.
Your brilliant, typical southern response to someone expressing how they feel about a situation was to call them emotional.
How is that not typical toxic masculinity/patriarchy. You don’t need a father or male role model in your life to be affected by, oh I don’t know, the rest of the fucking men in the country?
You fuckers need to get your head out of the sand, learn how to have civil debate again (like the south used to be, prior to getting FUCKED on the civil war) and reinvest in your education systems because you sound dumb as fuck right now
One thing I absolutely cannot stand is the assumption that if you’re against the Israeli government, you must also be antisemitic. In many cases, nothing could be further from the truth.
The Israeli government is just as screwed up as any powerful government, and is not immune to criticism. Groundless accusations of antisemitism are often used to unfairly attack critics, distract the listener from valid criticisms, and derail the conversation.
Of course, many of those accusations are completely justified, which clouds the issue further.
It’s super tricky and problematic. Organizations like AIPAC have many American politicians in their pocket. They pump a huge amount of money into lobbying our government promoting Israeli interests. But this argument gets awfully close to “the Jews have all the money and control the world” type conspiracy thinking which is very frustrating.
Most definitely. Just as pointing out unwarranted accusations of antisemitism can sound like victim blaming, and saying that the Israeli government likes it that way can make you come off as a hateful, insensitive jerk.
Various world politicians “wrap themselves in the flag” all the time. Israeli politicians do the same thing, but they’ve done an especially good job of weaving religion and patriotism together.
We can only hope normal people start using firefox again and ditch the piece of cold garbage that is chrome/ium. Though i doubt most people nowadays will even think about switching browsers (like how windows still has like 75+% of market share despite its quality freefalling since win10 and the most user hostile stuff being added)
If experience gets bad enough then people will look for alternatives. IE was something like 90% of the market share at one point and then it lost it fairly rapidly.
Not sure if software enshittification really makes people switch. I wish they would but I’m not convinced. I’d say the windows freefall started after windows 7:
8 was universally agreed to be complete horseshit because they were trying to make it work for both, touch and keyboard/mouse, which obviously failed.
10 felt like a sponsored-by-ads freemium cheap spyware, adding even more inconsistencies with these different system settings windows, adding cortana which literally not a single person on earth wanted to use but was hard to disable/remove and embracing the microsoft store which is the most cursed shithole of all (including google playstore which is already bad enough).
11 Is just like 10 but takes away essential settings, making every professional users workflow 40% slower for no reason.
Win7 also had issues, but it felt much more usable for professional use. Also much less bloated with bullcrap nobody ever asked for (preinstalled candycrush anyone?). So for me that was clearly peak windows. Obviously, every half-decent linux distro was at least as good, many were better even from a pure users perspective. After that, linux desktops got better and windows got worse. Nowadays its no competition if you ask me. But still, few people swicht from the pre-installed OS…
I’m heavily anti-Windows but if I had to pick a release (and have it supported forever) Windows 2000 would be my pick. Pure NT kernel, no 9x bullshit? Sign me up.
Win7 also had issues, but it felt much more usable for professional use
What issues did you have? I remember it only being light on resources, stable, and aesthetically pleasing. The UI introduced snap-to-edge, which was such a game changer at the time and really makes Windows versions before it feel archaic in comparison. It was the last Windows version before the layout of settings stopped making sense.
I’m sure this is just rose-tinted glasses so I might be ignoring some issues, but I can’t recall anything in particular.
Yes I also remember it as pretty awesome! It had some normal windows fails, like the search in explorer searching through many file formats content instead of only just file names (which would be a reasonable default), thus being slow, needing to build a search index (doing heavy work in the background on its own, which is terrible) and making it super weird to navigate the results. And of course windows update, which was always enormously heavy and slow and required reboots. And of course hiding file extensions by default (I think they still do it. Who the fuck is so damn stupid to make this the default?! Heck, I wouldn’t even allow this setting at all).
Thinking of it, these three little examples all stayed the same or got even much worse with later versions (updates!). E.g. in win10 the explorer search is still unusable but they managed to fuck up the start menu search as well (which worked well in win7).
Pretty much, and I think this highlights just how important it is to have at least two independently developed browser engines. If Chromium becomes the only game in town that would effectively let Google, which makes most of its revenue from ads, decide how we access the internet. That would be an absolutely terrible scenario to be in.
Personally, I just think the moral middle ground would be to be the person that slaughters and butchers the animals you eat. It would allow the most respect for all parties imo.
I don’t know. That feels a bit off-center to me rather than middle considering one end of the spectrum is “kill nothing ever” and the other end is “How many endangered animals can I make extinct just for funsies.” If everyone killed what they ate themselves, manually, I bet we’d have a bunch more vegetarians hanging around.
I agree that question is morally neutral. And not yet, I don’t, but that is the long term goal. I’ve got the land I would need and am working on fencing. In the interim, I have switched to meat raised and butchered by hand.
Hmmm, I hadn’t considered it in those particular terms, previously. I would definitely say my actions are less moral than they would be if I was doing the raising and butchering myself. Evil feels harsh but if we are using clear cut terms like good, neutral and evil, then I have to put my current actions in the evil column. And since my entire argument is based on a moral middle ground, I would say yes. I am attempting to move into morally neutral territory.
I was curious, is there a way to set it up to always for PC to boot up and start peer sharing, I always use torrents for downloading movies on a road trips on laptop but leaving it over night I always only get a ratio of 0.5 or something.
I’m not the most familiar with torrents and a like, since I rarely go on road trips, but I love foss and would love to contribute somehow, I know that I can donate but I already struggle to pay rent >_<
Not sure what platform and app you’re using but on qBittorent you can set it to run on windows startup.
There’s also an option to prevent the system from going to sleep (could be why you only get +0.5 ratio during the night). This last setting you can actually set it to download and/or upload.
I’ve seen Palestinian crowds chanting “Death to all Jews.” The gangrape of that reporter started by one dude in crowd deciding she’s a Jew and therefore fair game. A flash mob realizing a car is in the wrong neighborhood and immediately trying to kill them. Random rocket attacks on civilians foiled only by tech that costs 100x the weapons it defends against.
I’m not saying Israel is justified, or they aren’t on their way to outright fascism, or they don’t get some murder and torture in on their own.
I’m saying violence is a perpetual suffering machine that in this case is too late to solve, but we’re forgetting the British started it all, let’s invade England and execute the monarchy.
Oh I think you misunderstood some things there. I see a israeli security minister that is a straight up a right wing extremist. I see that cars from Palestinians can’t enter certain regions in order for them to not get into the “wrong” neighbourhoods. And most importantly of all I see journalists killed by the IDF. Imagine you are oppressed by a apartheid state that was put onto your land by some imperialistic force, but then expands even further into “your” territorry and surpresses you. I do NOT condone the actions by the Hamas. But when Palestinians see violence as the only way out I can see why.
And now you’re an Israeli who sees a radical Palestinian and says to themselves “well fuck these guys too then.”
You see how this works? I don’t feel like the cycle of violence is a new observation. I feel like you should already know one side being bad doesn’t make the other good.
Yeah thing is that the gov of Israel is the source of the “cycle”. They create facts by building Israeli settlements on Palestinian territories and say “Welp guess you can’t live there any longer”, they commit warcrimes by falsely stating that they won’t attack, then airstrike, keep normal civilian Palestinians in the world’s largest open air prisons and only continue to strengthen their grip on the Palestinian people.
Israel is the only party that can actually stop the violence. If the Hamas would stop their attacks it wouldn’t mean that the Palestinians will be treated equal to Israelis by the state. That’s like saying Ukrainians should stop defending their territory cuz they only prolong the suffering that way.
And for most Israelis it’s sadly “fuck the Palestinians” and not “specifically fuck the actually radical Palestinians” thanks to rigorous propaganda.
When Israel was broadly behaving like they didn’t have a wannabe fascist dictator obsessed with an Israeli Manifest Destiny as PM it didn’t stop Hamas either. Do you think if Netanyahu goes to prison where he belongs they’ll suddenly accept the two state solution?
Because as it is only Fatah seems willing to accept that, and they’re hemorrhaging support.
“It’s completely normal to scream for genocide. No, obviously Israel doesn’t get the same benefit in this multi-generational conflict caused by outside sources.”
And you great minds wonder why people assume being anti-Israel is just hidden anti-Semitism lol
