No, a traditional IRA would be even better for that. With a Roth, you can withdraw the principal without penalty since it was after-tax to begin with; it’s only the gains that you get punished for taking out. In contrast, any amount of withdrawal from a traditional account incurs a penalty (with a few exceptions, such as using it to buy your first house or whatever).
Every time I’ve gone back to Reddit, I’ve just seen the local communities I used to like getting incredibly right wing with the increasing number of wolf whistles in the comments. Or pro weed nonsense
And honestly, it just felt like doom scrolling and a waste of time. It has grown now to the point it’s just basically the Facebook crowd.
Lemmy is sufficiently busy, and much better quality. And there is more to think about when reading comments
Reddit allowed their communities to get shifted to the poles. My local community is the exact opposite, it’s so far to the left that it’s painful. The extreme poles of either side of the political spectrum are just as painful as the other.
Here we just chat. Left right square circle triangle, doesn’t seem to matter. The threads and interactions on here seem to be with people that are most like me, and not so much with the Ultra Hardcore MAGA bros, or the basement dweller 40 year old virgin social assistance crowd. Can’t say the same for Reddit. Glad they have a place too, hopefully they stay there.
“Regarding what the spokesman for the terrorist enemy army said about the arrival of prisoners of the occupation to Al-Shifa Hospital, we said early on that the resistance transferred many prisoners of the occupation to hospitals to receive treatment and undergo surgical operations, especially after some of them were injured as a result of the occupation’s aircraft bombing them.
We risked our fighters to guarantee the injured prisoners the best treatment. Possible in hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
We have published many pictures about this; Now their army spokesman presents it as if they have discovered something great.
What the spokesman for the occupation army says completely condemns them. These are points that are recorded for us and not for us.
Taking care of the prisoners, treating them, and giving them possible medical care is a point for us and not for us.”
Yea, there’s a lot of (well deserved) shitting on Windows, but it’s backwards compatibility is second to none. Not even Linux can give you a >70% chance that a piece of software or game you need/want from 1995 will still run (provided it’s not 16bit only or needs a proprietary driver lmao) on a modern version of the OS
Months ago I wanted to run a lot of my old childhood games (mostly between 94 and 2001 release dates) for my own kids and I found most of them still installed and ran right out of the box on fully updated Win10, a lot of the rest required some fiddling with compatibility settings and the rest just didn’t work because they were 16 bit only (You can still get them working natively if you install 32 bit Win10, but subjecting children to <4gb RAM is abuse) or some other weird issue so I fell back to ScummVM/DosBox for those
