Do 8 billions of people using single use plastic have the same impact of 20 billionaires on their yachts? This cannot be that difficult, guys. Billionaires are absolutely a problem but our actions as individuals are extremely important anyway.
That’s not actually correct, it’s not change in individual actions that needs to happen but systemic change. People act in the way that makes sense for them to act given the circumstances they’re in on individual level. What needs to change is the economic system to move away from consumerism, production of disposable goods, planned obsolescence and so on. This can only happen when the economy is publicly owned and directed towards the goal of profitability as opposed to towards creating as much profit as possible for people who own the companies.
Wait till you find out how jobs work under capitalism. Your labour produces a certain amount of value, then your boss appropriates that and pays you back a tiny portion of it in form of wages.
This is reddit killing third party apps, because even if you did subscribe you’re still not getting NSFW because reddit is taking that out of the API anyways
So who would pay literally more for less? Reddit can say all they want about supporting 3rd party but even the blind could see through them
I bet Infinity is doing this instead of hanging up their keyboards like the other apps specifically because they know it won’t work and want to be living proof of it.
The devs were hoping that they can keep their apps up and their livelihoods without too much additional work, that’s fair from them I suppose. But they should definitely be taking a hard look at porting their existing apps for the Fediverse, if they aren’t yet.
Everyone knows there’s only capitalism and evil communism. The cavemen were not enlightened to realize they should give all their hunting and gathering to their village leader while only being allowed scraps from their efforts.
