Honestly I disagree. Being “sold” an idea is just a metaphor we get from the same place as the “marketplace of ideas”, and it’s not accurate. There’s no transaction here, it’s a copy operation. You’re being offered an idea and you can adopt it or not. You don’t have to give anything up for it.
Personally I’m adopting this idea because it gave me a new feeling of how mentally peaceful a post capitalist world would be. You can already get a taste of the difference no advertising makes by going online with an adblocker. The last time youtube broke through my adblocker it was such an intrusive feeling and I put a lot of effort into making sure it wouldn’t happen again.
Normally, when I see something like “C/C++” it means that there’s a significant overlap between the two languages, so knowledge of one implies or coincides with knowledge of the other. But C# and C++ are very different languages, and while you could argue that there’s some sense in which they’re related, it isn’t much of one. If you’re going to list “C#/C++” then you could just as well put “Java/C#”, or “C++/Rust”.
I’m a bit peeved by the circumstance that python (a language), jupyter (a compiler for python), and numpy and pandas (both python modules) are listed separately.
If you make $100,000 for 40 years straight that is $4M. This dude made $21M in a single year. Ford’s share buyback program in 2022 totaled $484M. GM’a share buyback program totaled $3.4B in the past twelve months. We live in a fucked up world. Meanwhile, Ford/GM/Stellantis employees cannot afford to even buy the vehicles they make or feed themselves decent food.
