Sync is cool, but Jerboa is currently good-enough, while being free as in free beer, to wait until the recently released Infinity for Lemmy are being more robust.
The latest release of Jerboa keeps crashing on me, totally losing my place. I’m currently posting from Liftoff but I’ve also been using Connect sometimes, but both of those clients have their own issues.
Mine is that I have used Jerboa since I joined Lemmy a couple months ago. It’s improved a lot, and even in its latest iteration is nowhere near as polished and nice as sync. It was an easy decision to switch.
I mean if they're going to remake a movie, they should go out of their way to make it as different as possible. I for one would love to see the direction of a film with this casting goes.
I'd like to see a comedy where the Snow White story is playing out but the dwarves and woodland beings all choose Terry Crews. He's like, "Nah guys. I'm a carpenter. I think you've got the wrong person.". But they aren't hearing it and strongarm Terry into the role. The evil queen is the only other person to get it and they have to team to to fix the story.
That’s dope as hell, and my personal favorite of the 3D GTAs. I still remember the general layout of the city without looking at a map, over twenty years later. I actually probably put more time into this game than any of the follow ups.
My friends and I used to look for little pieces of the map that would send our cars flying and spinning, because that kind of stuff racked up “points” that paid out as cash money to spend in the game. Endless hours just driving as fast as possible and trying to flip the car in the air as many times as possible.
It was such a pioneer for the series, going from 2D to 3D, one of the best transitions ever made for that type of game. Up there with Mario 64 in terms of success of translation of key elements of gameplay from one type of media to the next.
I’ve been wanting a PinePhone for a while for experimenting with, and I keep seeing super cool stuff like this being done with them!
No. The reason that we used to be advised to cook pork thoroughly was because of trichinosis. That is no longer common, so it is no longer necessary to thoroughly cook pork to the degree that it used to be.
You mean those diseases which have never been found to occur in pigs? Yeah. Delicious. I'm not defending this practice, but your reason to be against it is based on a falsehood.
Bro this isn’t about veganism, I love the taste of bacon too. What I read in that article is absolutely fucked. A small quote:
Male piglets at the farm have their tails cut off and testicles ripped out by hand without anesthesia or pain relief, both standard practices in the industry. The investigator filmed employees tossing the testicles at each other and at a wall that was covered in them.
yeah, meat lover here, it’s real fucked and completely legal.
These practices are all legal and widespread because lawmakers have made them so. The federal Animal Welfare Act excludes livestock from protection, while many state animal cruelty laws exempt “customary farming practices,” allowing the industry to define what’s customary. Big Ag is one of the more powerful lobbies in Washington.
In some states, it’s even illegal to conduct investigations like the one featured in this story. From the early 1990s to the early 2020s, a number of states passed “ag-gag” laws, which generally prohibit people from taking videos or photographs on farms without permission. Fortunately, most have been struck down as unconstitutional.
So… you’re less likely to hear from “preachy vegans” (aka investigations into these abhorrent practices) in the future but no less likely to be eating meat that was fed poop. cooooool.
Sadly this isn’t just common in the bacon industry, similar abhorrent practises are common in literally every livestock sector. The workers develop a sort of disassociation and don’t see them as animals anymore, or just straight up don’t care.
