Rip Teddit (kbin.social)
Today I just noticed, after trying to convert a reddit link (from this sub!), that teddit is no longer working....

I migrated from reddit like a lot of folks. I'm using kbin.social, but it seems I can also see posts from people at places like lemmy.world. How many different instances are there? How does the federated model work? So far I like what I see, but I'm also just trying to understand how things are integrated here.
I have a private @gmail and a business @company.com (also via gmail), which I heavily rely on. Due to a recent data-leak somewhere, I'm now receiving unstoppable spam on my @gmail, and decided to set up a new account on proton and ditch @gmsil in favor of @example.com. I came across SimpleLogin, and thought that I could use that...
Just an FYI in case anyone wants to update their Miyoo Mini Plus....
With reddit I could go to the sidebar and quickly type in a subreddit if I wanted to browse it specifically....
I'm currently working on learning r programming to use at work. Is there a good place whereI can ask for answers to the issues I'm running into that I cannot find by just searching online.
I got an invite code and so spent a bit of time browsing around because I'd heard good things about it. But I was surprised at how basic and non-diverse it all is. The forums are preset and are very generic. The conversations are definitely better than Reddit, but no better or worse than the ones I've had with people on Fedi....
So I know my way around Linux pretty well. However I never really got the gist of the difference between Snap, Flatpak and Native packages....
Not necessarily piracy, but I realise that it might be the only option....
Found the little feller once someone pointed out he was there.
So I'm in the process of (re-) setting up my homelab and unsure about how to handle databases. Many images require a database, which the docker-compose usually provides inside the stack....
I didn't see a thread for this show yet. Sometimes Federation is iffy though. If there is already a post, I guess just delete this one....

In the past week and a half, I've noticed Reddit behaviors starting to try and poison all of the places that people are taking refuge in to get away from the toxicity, myself included. They've started to DDoS Lemmy for a while, which is a Reddit thing to do and what they're notorious of doing whenever they feel they don't like...

Most of the other Fediverse platforms are pretty obvious to me as to what they're meant to be alternatives to. Mastodon for Twitter/Threads, PixelFed for Instagram, Lemmy for Reddit, Matrix for Discord/Slack... But I can't quite place MissKey. It doesn't really feel like any other social network I've seen before....
Feel free to pick a context:...
Calcurse why didn't you guys tell me about calcurse!...
I'm looking for an app which allows me to open a post and then just swipe to the left to see the next post down. So far I've tried Jerboa, Connect, and Sync and all seem to want to perform actions on whatever comment you happen to swipe on rather than move the entire post/thread.
Ahoy! This Kbin based community is meant as a place where you can talk about everything related to your favourite Hololive pirate Houshou Marine....
I got the "shutting down" message and I was signed out of all of my accounts. But the front page, posts, and comments are all still loading just fine.
Mooching off this other post...
Why can't the U.N. just make war illegal?
I REALLY want to get away from using all Microsoft products. My spouse and I use Linux but not for our kids just simply because I have yet to find anything that does what Microsoft Family does - being able to remotely set time limits, keep an eye on screen time stats, block websites and apps remotely, see what websites they've...
I took control of m/television the other day. It was abandoned since its start and had people posting silly youtube videos. Feel free to join and post....
