Codilingus , (edited ) to linux_gaming in If you look to play the upcoming "Spectre Divide" game, don't hold your breath this is from an interview with Mountaintop Games CEO via The Verge.

Lmao, wtf is this?! When I tried the test it loaded up battleeye…

That said it’s a shame. It’s a very unique way to make a TAC shooter. After 5 or so matches you start to realize the potential for some galaxy brain sized strats and play styles. But man does exhaust your brain trying to keep up with it all in the heat of the moment.

Edit: I wonder if the upcoming NTSYNC to the Linux kernel will affect if these kernel level anticheats are compatible?

thirteene , to linux in To Linux admins: What certifications/degrees do you guys have?

My rhcsa expired and I only have experience beyond that. Your task right now is to find a job and the easiest way to do that is to leverage your network. If you don’t have a network, you need to prove that you can commit to a long term plan and learn a skill. Most people do that with degrees. Unfortunately a lot of people have degrees and technology is getting more competitive. That’s where you see school competitions and certifications. If you don’t want to do that, you’ll need to be able to speak competently to the role.

Unfortunately right now I do not recommend platform/devops/sre for anyone breaking into the field. If I create an application today, it’s server less or bring your own dockerfile on a provided machine image. So what are you administrating? Legacy shops will be around for decades, but the future here is layered architecture not os tasks.

The drilled holes indicate that it has some use, just one that’s not immediately obvious.

Kinda looks like pegs could be inserted then used sort of like a weaving loom. Or maybe the holes had bristles of some kind and it is a brush.

Hirom , to asklemmy in How do you get over the fact that not everyone will like you?

These 5% of negative reviews probably has nothing to do with you. There’s always a small amount of people unhappy for random or unrelated reasons (broke up with boy/girlfriend, car broke, etc) and who would write negative reviews no matter what. It’s possible they cannot dissociate the course from other things happening in their life. They just happened to be unhappy at that time, and felt like leaving a nasty review.

Andromxda , to android in How can I power down this phone?
@Andromxda@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

As far as I know you can power down a Pixel at any stage by holding the power button for over a minute. Had to do this a couple of times when I flashed a bad ROM and got stuck in a bootloop.

Timbo303 , to linux in How to install .deb on Pop_OS
@Timbo303@lemmy.ml avatar

Unless your program doesnt have a flatpak or appimage just avoid deb as sometimes they are behind flatpak. I noticed this in the discover store for kde plasma for example. Plus flatpaks and appimages are the future as they support all distributions instead of mainly just debian-based ones.
