In my opinion: Yay for people not tech savy, so they can’t bork their system, and it prevent most malware to do damages. Or for special devices, like the Steam Deck!
Nay for thinkerer like me, if I want to uninstall the boot loader, I need the option!!
Installing it as a PWA on my iPhone causes the history buttons to disappear (since they're part of the browser). This means that if I open a comments page, I can't get back to the post list again. I can tap on the logo to get to the main page, but my scrolling position is lost, so I'd have to scroll down to find where I stopped scrolling last time.
Hey there, I was right there with you about a year ago. Couple years ago I easily read through 50 books in a year, then right at the end of college I couldn’t even begin one. After 3 years being out, I finally finished a couple books in less than half a year.
What helped is reading something easy and fun. Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy was it for me. Nowadays I’m doing therapy as well, which helps. I’m nowhere near as voracious a reader as I once was but I’m a different person than I was years ago, so that’s fine.
Maybe you should search for some rolling release distribution. I’m using Arch since many years and am quite happy with it. You rarely have to build anything yourself. Only if you have to use the AUR.
Fighting games? Street Fighter 6, The King of Fighters XV and Guilty Gear Strive all have crossplay, are pretty recent and good fun even if you don’t want to fully dedicate yourselves to it.
Never played it but heard good things about it. Is it similar to Mordhau? If it is, I second your recommendation, because I played that game with friends and had a ton of fun.
It’s a lot closer to a typical fighting game than Mordhau, TBH. Combat is more structured around “moves” that you have rather than being able to just drag a weapon around wherever.
Oh wow, a topic for which I’m somewhat of an expert.
Get a box of cornbread mix. Dump it in a bowl. Add milk. Stir and then consume with a spoon. If you want some violence to your shits then mix a considerable amount of crushed red pepper before the milk while it’s still a dry powder. The milk will help dull the impact of the CRP as you’re eating it but not as it’s passing, and passing fast.
With this method you should be able to make a load of poop that floats a bit and will pile up above the water line, significantly increasing the stench you leave in the bathroom.
The amateur enhancement is to also slam down a number of Fibercon tablets, but if you want to amp this up to pro-level defecation then go look in the supplements section for some stuff called “chitosan”. It’s like ground up shrimp and crustacean shell, and it bonds to fats so instead of being absorbed they pass through you. That plus a bunch of fatty stuff from other suggestions you’ll be receiving will take your adventure to the next level. This plus swapping in heavy whipping cream for the cornbread concoction then you’ll probably have bowel movements so horrible you’ll have to register them with some kind of government agency.
Good luck and may your toilet paper be the good stuff.
It takes me about a week of holiday before I can read. No work stress, and less obsession with the continual dopamine hits of smart phones, eventually lets my brain relax enough to pick up a book.
Every time I come back from holidays I tell myself I should keep reading. I never have kept it up though..
as the other lemming said, on Android LibreTorrent works great
just wanted to add something that might be off topic but since you mention Linux ISOs: EtchDroid
with it you can create a Linux bootable flash drive straight from your Android device. i use a small USB-A + USB-C pen drive that connects on one end to my desktop and on the other to my phone. has saved me from my linux fails several times :D
(Post) modern life is so empty, it’s so soulless. Society has been deconstructed and we are all now fully atomized, utility maximizing individuals in an endless cycle of earning and consuming. Earn, consume - make money, spend money. Interpersonal relationships, family, community have all become secondary to the earn/consume cycle. We now all only live to serve the endless profit behemoth. Even nature itself is only a tool for profit.
We need to reintegrate back into the natural world and refocus on community and human relationships. We need to prioritize sustainability, health, happiness, and well being for ourselves and future generations over short term individual gains and immediate gratification.
