PBS has a lady on who says congresspeople are contacting her and basically saying, “why couldn’t it have been Nikki Haley?!”

I’ve had that same question for Republican primary voters for some months.

Because Nimarata doesn’t excite the core Repub voting base (christofascist bigots) so she would never win the general election.

According to Trump, leaders all over the world are calling and going to see Trump to laugh at the USA.

So like, which ones? Which leaders are visiting Trump to laugh at the USA? And why is he accepting them over and over? Why are world leaders wasting their time laughing at the USA with Trump? Tell us, Trump!

SeaJ ,

Probably only Orban who is batshit.

LifeInMultipleChoice ,

I think he has support from North Korea, Russia, Hungary, and Turkey possibly. He doesn’t have the support of Germany, France, UK, Canada, Spain… Nevermind I don’t have all night

There’s smoke coming out of my ears, and I smell a burning clutch from constantly shifting gears.

Trump looked angry & rattled. Harris looked like she belonged on that stage.

UltraGiGaGigantic , to asklemmy in What were or are your thoughts on the US Pres. Debate?

The LWV (League of Woman Voters) sponsored the United States presidential debates in 1976, 1980 and 1984.[60][61] On October 2, 1988, the LWV’s 14 trustees voted unanimously to pull out of the debates, and on October 3 they issued a press release condemning the demands of the major candidates’ campaigns. LWV President Nancy Neuman said that the debate format would “perpetrate a fraud on the American voter” and that the organization did not intend to “become an accessory to the hoodwinking of the American public.”[62][63] All presidential debates since 1988 have been sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates,[64] a bipartisan organization run by the two major parties that some argue has established rules with the intent to exclude airing candidates associated with other parties.[65]

If Trump is holding back on stopping the Russian/Ukraine war just as some sort of dangled treat, then we don’t need him.

As a human being, if he has that control he should exercise it, no matter the outcome of the election.

And besides, he never answered whether he wanted Ukraine to win or not.

God fucking damn JD Vance is fucking vapid.

PrincessLeiasCat ,

What’d he do now?

xmunk ,

His post debate commentary can be summed up as “Why didn’t Harris talk about any of the things she talked about and why hasn’t she fixed the economy from her completely ceremonial role.”

It’s like he didn’t watch the fucking debate at all.

PrincessLeiasCat ,

Oh. Thankfully I’ve managed to avoid that.

tal ,

and why hasn’t she fixed the economy from her completely ceremonial role

While that’s a bullshit accusation from him, it’d also be almost as much so if he had been talking about Biden. Presidents aren’t really what drive most economic changes, yet are regularly blamed for or credited with it by the public, and politicians regularly take advantage of that. What Vance is doing pretty par for the course. That isn’t to say that the practice of exploiting it isn’t disappointing, but it’s not like what he’s doing is all that unique.

We can tie that in with shorter campaign seasons too.

The difference in America between commercial and public media: PBS’ stream is letting two political experts answer viewer questions. NBC is interviewing three undecided voters in Pennsylvania.
